Matrox Millenium I (later in tandem with a Voodoo I card)
    NVidia MX440
    Radeon 9800 pro
    NVidia 7800GTX

Believe it or not.. that's it.

I never used to game until about 2 years ago, so to many people's horror, I was actually using the Matrox until about 2001!! I bought the MX440 to tentatively game, then realised it was poo, then got the 9800 pro a few months after it was released. Then the 7800GTX a few months ago.

    3d Prophet GeForce 64MB
    Asus GeForce4 Ti4200
    Sapphire ATI Radeon 9600pro
    Sapphire ATI Radeon 9600xt

those are the only 4 cards I've bought in like the last 6 years...i've stopped buying windows based computers and swapped to mac ages ago, so I don't buy new ones very often at all... in fact, chances are i won't upgrade graphics for at least another year, if not two

    Nvidia GeForce 2 MX 64mb
    Nvidia GeForce 6200 128mb

Not much, I know, but the GeForce 2 (although it will run HL2) just had to be retired...

Started with some onboard graphics on my 286 that had some special memory port to upgrade it (I was like 6 at the time so I don't remember)

What I can remember though (upgrade wise not time wise, since I have bought several older cards for servers)

    SIS 2MB thang
    Matrox card
Creative jobbie (think it was one of the original SLI ones cos it had a phat port on the back)
    Generic 64MB
FX5200 (128MB) (about 4 of these in my time)
    9600XT (overclocked that mofo)
Currently on X800PRO flashed to X800XT

(In no particular order and for more than one machine)
    Riva 128 (STB...they aren't around anymore)
    Voodoo 3 (prolly a PNY)
TNT2 M64 (Image Magic or something like that anyway)
Geforce 2 GTS (could almost swear it was a Foxconn)
    Geforce 3 Ti 500 (VisionTek)
Geforce 4 Ti 4200 (VisionTek, before they went under)
    Radeon 7000 (BBA)
    Radeon 9600 Pro (gexcube)
    Radeon 9600 XT (BBA)
    Radeon 9800 Pro (Sapphire)
    Radeon X700 Pro (Sapphire)
and the current "new hotness," an XFX 7900GT XXX Edition. Fast mofo of a card. My system is holding it back and it's no slouch.

Could add more and probably double that list if I included cards in machines I built for family and friends. Overall those cards, the biggest milestones were the TNT2, Ti4200, and the Radeon 9600XT. I've still got them and all but the TNT2 are still in service. Maybe I'll build a display for them someday.

I've not bought them, but I've had my hands on just about everything that has been released since the FX 5900 / 9800 Pro. ;)
