Hal, you never cease to amaze me. Awesome job getting that slim DVD rom mounted. Maybe I can't see it, but where is the eject button for the DVD?
I LOVE THIS PROJECT! Seriously, very nice work Hal. Great ideas and creativity, superb craftsmanship, and awesome looks. You have done a very nice job so far. This easily makes the top "quadrant" of favorite case mods I've seen. Keep it up man!

the whole thing is going to be either red LED out or red some-kind of light! i dont know yet. but very bright red!
Hi Hal, I was checking out your worklog and wanted to know if you sanded the 'can' before you painted it or not. The first pic has a brushed aluminum look and the one after the sketch looks like a mirror.
well the can was all stainless steel. all i did was tape it up and cut it. it got really dirty with the cutting and everything i did to it. however, i did clean it with like simple green degreser. then i had it powdercoated candy apple red, not painted... i needed something that would hold up better than paint! thanks for watching!
something small to get you going! add some socket head bolts, aluminum spacers, diamondplate aluminum, a holesaw, and lots of sanding and buffing and you get something like this... just like i said, i wanted it a bit more flashy... there is still more to come to this top. this is just the first part of the finished top lid. tonight i should be posting the finished one. what do you think?

yeh all good!!... have to say thats a very well thought out idea!.. i love it.. would you consider selling it after whats the specs of the guts inside.. i might have missed that.....
well the top lid is done. i will not do anymore to it, i dont want to over-do anything on this case. its going to go well with the other things i have for this case. just a hint, it will go right along the lines of the lid, just on smaller scale! little bit of pics will do you well till next update! till later...
Excellent work Are you going to do something similar on the bottom? Personally, I think some angle cut diamond plate wrapping around the bottom would look awesome
