Thinking this would look nice on one of Aspires X-Qpack's.

I think this would be great in a HTPC setting. Do you think the 120mm fan be able to be swapped out for a lower speed fan without a big drop in performance?

    It would be fine.

A few people use QD's in their loops, I used to use the larger colder 3/8ths ones. The small ones like on this kit are pretty flow restrictive.

Adding GPU/chipset blocks would be a snap, all you'd have to do is cut the tubing from the CPU block, then just clamp the others on at the correct intervals. Unfortunately, you'll have to deal with kinking for one (unless you grab some cool sleeves, as seen inside the unit), and two, you may need more coolant than is supplied.

The distance between the fan and radiator is minimal. Also the unit is totally sealed, so the only way the air can come in is through the radiator and out is through the fan vent.

Yes, I asked a complete noobie to watercooling to have a go at fitting it and he managed with no problems at all.

yeah, i'm sure it could be, but to be honest most of the noise comes from the pump. The pump can also have its voltage reduced to 8V if required, but that would need a bit of technical know-how.

Or three seconds with a rheobus on the Natulus' incoming voltage line? That way, pump & fan speed can be simultaniously limited.

I reckon that still would need some technical know-how. ;)

Slice wire at point A, feed 12V to in, gnd to gnd, and the rheo's stuff out? Hardly. I should make kits and charge $8 for them.

Well, for someone who has never fitted watercooling to their system slicing through the cables might be a bit daunting. Anyway, the fan is fine, so there really is no need to reduce its speed further. In fact, you run the risk of stopping it altogether if the switch is on low. Good idea though if you know what you are doing. :dremel:

Was the alphacool setup installed in the same case with the same hardware or are the quoted temperatures from the previous review? As there are not any photographs to illustrate that part of the comaprison is unclear.

The test setup was the same throughout for all hardware.

so basically your saying this is even an option for the pro's (which i most deffinately am not) when the gpu and north bridge addons arrive? seems much less hastle, much easier to maintain and around the same price give or take a tenner...no?

We would like to test the other components fully before saying a definative yes to your question, so product availability and time permitting we will extend the review with the GPU/Northbridge add ons.

I think that it'll be fine, even after prolonged use, just keep the seal tight or and use the ones supplied with it, or order some from corsair itself or a specialist modding community.

    Cut down on leaks...

I wonder why they didn't just go ahead and include Socket A mounts as well... or would the included brackets fit a Socket A board?

Because Socket A is far past EOL. If you want to mount this on your S-A board, just steal the mounting clip from the stock solution, and trim down the foam accordingly.
