And its not to terribly expensive either. I may give that a try sometime. If I ever have any spare money.
Spare money - Money stolen from a) parents wallet b) bank, grocery/convenience store c) hard earned money (yeah right )
The only problem with it (that I see anyway) is that is uses your CPU & PCI Bus... thus taking away some speed from your games... might be okay in a dedicated server though.
It says that it doesn't take much of your cpu... I would think that it wouldn't effect most gamer's rigs...
hehe, fair enough. If a friend and I hadn't already bought an 8-port switch for the same price at CompUSSR, I'd be considering it.
Well, if you're always on the go to LANs and such, a switch would be one less item to worry about. I suppose that would make up for its use of the CPU and PCI bus.
Our switch is pretty darn small. About the size of that card, and 1-1 1/2cm thick. My cat5 takes up more space.
Heh, problem = we both paid for it (50/50 deal) so an internal rig would kind of set things off... Since putting 8 RJ-45 jacks into a 3.5" bay would be interesting to say the least.
ok this is better than the version i saw in a mag before here Yammosk Edit: hope my Computer Wholesaler Sells them they would be easy to get to work in Xp bridge the network cards they have and they would work together
Kill your friend and then take sole possession of it. I'm an idea man, that is what I do. What kind of switch is it? The card would be great in a server, An all in one deal. Stack them in every available slot. Easier than wheeling racks of equipment about. EDIT: Another dealer
