The Time Is Here! After a long time of thinking I have now decided to make my first project! I already now want to point out that my english isn't the best one so please don't hate me because of my spelling . The Hardware: - CPU: AMD64 3000+ (3200+)(Need to buy) - MB: MSI K8N Neo2 (Already have) - RAM: 512mb (Need to buy) - GFX: GeForce 4 MX (Already have)(9800Pro if I can fix my old) - PSU: Know idea but I think I can get one for free. Hopefully it's going to look something like this when it's done: Material: PC (PolyCarbonat) Black-toned! I orderd some parts from GTek a couple of days ago, which arrived today: Lian Li MoBo Tray Lian Li Button Kit Zalman ZM-NB47J The MoBo Tray (smaller than I thought it would be) Some other stuff, ADDA 120mm, Powerbutton och LEDs, 30cm CCFL Green Have some thoughts of making another fan-hole. The little NB-fan can be really anoying so why not change it?! I thought it would be a little easier to decide the size of the chassie if I had som components to work with! So I mad my own. Then I remembered that I had a trashed HDD and a CD so I didn't need to make any more boxes After that it was time to make the real drawings! Drawing + Prison Break = The ****! A little bit of chaos in my room: More to come, so stick around!
Update* 26.04.2006 The chaos continues: And so does my project... I finished the drawings and gave them to my dad who is going to provide me with the material! And now to the goodies! Some of the part were already finished, others I hade to fix myself.! The Top: Quick check so everything fits: The part which will be the Front, Left and Right side: 120mm fan hole: Done: The big hole was alreay done but I had to make other holes for the mounting screws: Went pretty good: What will be the HDD-holder: Time to fix the front: Didn't went as good as I hoped :/ When I tried to bend it, it broke: I made a couple of more tries but with the same result... Have to think of another why to bend it! The HDD-holder went Ok at least: The mounting will be something like this but not quite All for this time... stick around!
UPDATE*2006.04.28 After a couple of more tries with diffrent methodes and materials it went as I wanted! Tiem to drill new holes for the fan. Mounted! (ADDA 120mm) Making a check so everything fits! Pretty much how the HDD-holder will look like! Drilling started! Finished drilling + mounting! Nutty...Patrick...I! Some of my tools! Time is 8pm and my stomack hurts! YUMMI ! All for this time... stick around!
Update*2006.05.16 Time for a new update! It's been a while since the last one and alot have happend so let's get started Oh BTW crazydeep: The program I use is called SolidWorks! The HDD-holder mounted on the bottom plate. MoBo tray (and No I chose not to make another fan-hole) This is the **** that will hold the HDD! Need to put something on the backside so it gets the wright distance! Putting the parts together to see if everything fits as it should. Found these. Great with som distance! Well, time to fix these! Will put the start and reset button on this plate! Drawed and drilled! Cleaned! Glued and finished! Will look something like this! (Except for the pen ) Found this round stick which I fixed a little! It may not be the prettiest way but it sure is quiet! Mounted!
Time to fix the problem I've been having with the DVD! Will look something like this: The screws! Totally stable!
Not much to do now but mount the stuff! Without any film or foile! Thought it would be nice to fix the egdges! The two dots you can see here got to go otherwise I won't be able to mount the motherboard! All for this time, stick around!!!
that mobo tray actually looks really good through the acrylic. here's a thought: I bet it would look great if you polished the drives, psu, etc. to match the polish of the mobo tray
Yes it's SolidWorks! I ordered the last parts this morning. 1 x AMD ATHLON 64 3000+ S939 1.8G BOX VENICE 1 x SAMSUNG DVD-ROM 16X BLACK BULK POWERDVD 1 x BARRACUDA 7200.9 80GB 8MB SATA/3GB NCQ Hopefully they will arrive tomorrow or in the begining of next week!
I got the parts today!!! (Except I went with a Samsung instead of the Seagate!) I have mounted everything and it works! Even though I want to, I don't have time to make a real update with pictures today so it will probably come tomorrow instead! So stick around!
