I would like to see a material that 'turns away' all electromagnetic waves. But if they could make it, it would be a breakthrough in materials.

    This sounds really neet.
though, I doubt that it will be very bendable. It would probably have to be pre-formed to an object.

    I guess we'll see (or not ;) )

I don't think this would be something for the public to get their hands on. I can just imagine the things I would do with it!

"He knows too much, get him!" - US govt.
Damn, now my phones going to be wiretapped

It sounds cool but I think of all the bad things I would do with it. :D

It's too late. If it's possible, it will be done. It's better to develop it "in the white" where it can be discussed and perhaps controlled than to push it into "the black" where it becomes simply a line item on a secret budget.

All the great leaps and bounds in technology throughout the years have come as a result of either war or in competition with rival nations...

And iirc, i think i read somewhere that scientists have already made a microscopic piece of dust invisible.. wahey!

    Answer of the week :D

I reckon we'll see this stuff eventually, but it'll probably be outlawed or something. That or women in changing rooms are going to bump into a large number of invisible 6ft high walls :duh: :eeek:

But the materials described here wouldn't allow you to see though it, you'd have to stick your head out of the top.
