Hehe, yeah same for me on 10meg, its possible since most of the 10meg downloads start really high I mean like 10mb/s (for liek 1 sec) then drop to 1.2mb/s ;)

    Also thats one sweet pic

I got it at just over 8Mb/s on my colo server :D
Took about 1.8 seconds or so.
If it goes down, I can probably host it.

Took a bit of searching but here you go: Linky

I chose the january picture because it is more varying, the max picture size is a bit-torrent'ed 21600x21600 :p

I thought this thread was crappy and token until I saw that thread. I always heard about these gigabit projects, but have never been able to download a super hi-res photo (obviously because noone wants to host one!).

Rockon, will download this when I get home :D

Hmm... 2GB image zipped... right up there with when I downloaded the results of the human genome project (anyone know how to open a .fa file?)

I'm bittorrenting the january and the topo shading one. Just so I have another excuse to buy that new hard drive. Methinks that graduation ca$h will come in handy :D

also, it seems that the fullsize bittorrent version is 86400x43200 (3.7GP image!). 5400x2700 for an 8Km/px res, and the full is 500m/px, sixteen times the size.

edit - holy lord, finished downloading those fullsize sets from BT. Those outright molested my system. Extracting the zip took about 15 minutes, ate through temp space like no tomorrow and trying to open just one in photoshop caused some real pain. Had to change my scratch disk to a different hard drive (that had over two gigs free space) just to open the thing. Oh yeah, it's split into eight massive segments too, and that was just for one segment.
