Hey guys!! Many of you may know me from the "My Room and Everything in it" log. Now that the rules have changed (probably because of me) Project Logs are not allowed to be on your room, so I am going to post a little thread here on my room. Basically, I moved at the begining of June into my own place (well 2 roommates). It is this huge house with 3 BRs and 2.5 baths and so on. I will start with some pics of the 1st floor. Please keep in mind that I am still moving in and setting up, so things are far from perfect. This is the entrace hall. This is the living room. Looking across the living room into the kitchen. My room. Far from finished. I still have to hang pictures. Looking into the room. The closet and other stuff. My computer setup. My TV setup. I have a computer hooked up for music and my recorded TV shows and movies. Whats been done so far: Painted Got new desk Wired front door camera Got a new PC (X2 4200+ 2GB RAM 40GB SATA2 Mirrored and 250 GB storage) Got 2 M-Audio Audiophile cards for my second PC (audio editing and such) Got a 8 channel stero mixer Plus set up room. Plans: Clean up some wires. Install electric door lock (you will see soon) Install a BIG RED BUTTON Hang pictures And more stuff I will soon think of. Peace, Nick
Thanks all!! Atomic: I have seen that and am thinking of doing something like that, but not exactly. I need something more original. What they did is actually not very expensive or difficult and if they hadn't done that I would. But I am going to ponder a better idea. greywolf: Thank you for both statements. The parts should be in soon for my door lock. Talk to you then. Nick
J-Pepper: All of them! TekMonkey: Well, first, I didn't know that I would be moving. Second, I was able to move everything, so the money wasn't wasted. Small update: Some buttons I got on ebay. I already used one (there were 6 total). This is where I used the first. The red socket on that duplex is controlled by the button. When the button is pressed, the power is disconnected. This is so that the battery charger will reset: the instructions say to unplug it when you insert new batteries to chage (and you actually have to or they won't charge). This way I just have to press a button to reset it. Here is the keyswitch I ordered for my door lock. With out the key. Here is the big red button mounted in my cabinet. I am thinking that it could automatically lower blinds that I will be getting and/or could close the door automatically. It could also be my snooze button. Moving along... This is my A/V corner. The cat5 patch panel is a patch for all of my AV stuff. I also have a stereo mixer and headphone amp there. Lastly, my front door monitor. It allows me to seewho is at the front door. The picture I took isn't very clear, but the image from the camera is quite good. Best of all, it is completely weatherproof (the HUGE storm last night tested it). Oh and another great thing is I got it for CHEAP at the RatShak. Even though I hate Radio Shack, I have actually found some good deals when items are clearence priced. One last thing, I missed delivery on my Jameco order today (door stuff) but I should get it tomorrow. Until then.... Peace, Nick
