Okay guys. I have a question for you all. Alright, I really love orange juice. I also like the cold. My orange juice never really seems cool enough so I was thinking orange juice with ice. But I am afraid to try it. Have any you ever tried it? Does it taste different? If so, how, better or worse? Is it colder? Does it spontaneously combust and then spill flaming hot material in your face? Is it poisonous?

I've tried just about every beverage with ice. Except milk... oh and orange juice.

Sorry you're on own buddy. :p
But seriously, my experiances have been mixed when adding ice. It's really a matter of how much ice you put in. If you put in too much, the drink just doesn't taste good enough. For example, when I put ice in my snapple ice tea, I have to make sure I don't put in too much or else it just tastes too watery and the flavor goes away quickly.

    So yeah, experiment. ;)

I don't like it. Every now and then someone turns the fridge too cold and the OJ freezes. Then it's like an ice slushy but uncomfortable to drink. Plus, I HATE drinking anything with large cubes of ice if I don't have a straw.

Here's a question... is water from the same refrigerator as not-cold as the OJ? If it satisfactory, then perhaps the OJ cannot be colder.

Here is a suggestion though: if you HAVE to use ice, make a tray of frozen OJ-cubes. That way, your OJ will never be watered down!

    LoL, no prob.

Another idea is putting other ice cubes in. I like mixing OJ with cranberry juice sometimes, and b/c of this thread, I'm going to try to mix maybe cranberry juice ice cubes with OJ to see how that goes.

I've tried to make ice cubes with OJ, lemonade, cranbbery juice, and apple juice. They do NOT work great with alcoholic beverages as I thought they would. In addition, I've er... heard from a friend, no, I mean a friend of a friend, no, I mean a sibling of a friend of my colleague's cousin, that they are not a good substitute for regular ice cubes when considering um... uh... alternative uses. :naughty:

Hmm. Or if ice cubes in the OJ doesn't work well for ya, you can always pre-chill a glass in the freezer. I froze some small candle holders to get the waz out, and the glasses were way too cold to handle comfortably. I think that might be a better idea than an ice cube. When you use one, you can refill it for a bit before it gets warm. When you take one out, put another in to replace it.

crushing the ice means it won't water your drink down, learnt that at Raouls in Jericho!

    Freeze the glass.

I live for threads like this. Where would the world be without everyone chipping to help someone fulfilling his OJ cooling problems.

Makes no difference to me, the orange juice already has water in it.
What kind of fool puts 3 icecubes in a drink only to have them melt anyway?

Here is your answer.. Yes ice makes it taste diluted....

    HOWEVER!!! SUPER AWESOME IDEA!

    make orangeice cubes!

The perfect solution.. You could be really posh and cut up orange slices and freeze them in your orangeice cubes!

I love Orange Juice as well, and double-orangeice cubes are definately the way to go!
