Can anyone recommend a couple of good books for Photoshop? Beginner lvl to intermediate would be nice, I know there are lots of websites with guides but I like reading books.
Im going to buy the "editing in RAW" that was recently on Macbreak, but I would also like to know some good reads, or, preferably video tutorials as well.
computer arts has some great tutorials. they are all a bit trendwhoreish, but the actuall skills learned are supurb fine em here: http://www.computerarts.co.uk/ in the tutorials section their mag is good as well, although there are more detailed ones out there. Check the shelves in WH Smiths then there is http://www.photoshopsupport.com/ its not great itself, but there are loads of links... shame the website is so confusing. then there is deviantArt, for the more personal touch http://resources.deviantart.com/tutorials/ You'll find hundereds of different and substantial tuts on there, but they can confuse, as they often presume u have the latest programs and that you have a basic knowledge. finally, keep an eye on http://photoshop.weblogsinc.com/ it often links to great resources. --- 1 more i have found helpfull occasionally: http://www.purephotoshop.com/
Photoshop CS2 (or whatever version you have) for Photographers by Martin Evening. Only book worth having, if you're a photographer at any rate.
Haha, I was just coming in to recommend that same book, for photographers anyhow. If for quick general learning how to get around PS, when I first picked up the software I found the Photoshop Gurus tutorials excellent. Ok, they get you to make cheap crap stuff, but you'll be suprised what you learn out of them and will be much more comfortable in PS after having done them.

Anything by Scott Kelby, his books are very easy to follow. tTey take an effect and show you how to do it step by step, with keyboard short cuts while also telling what you ar doing. If you are interested more in graphic design type stuff this is great: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/07...102-8089570-3070529?s=books&v=glance&n=283155 If you are intereted in photoshop with digital photography this is better suited, but both are good. http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/t...f=sr_1_1/102-8089570-3070529?v=glance&s=books
