No, but he revised his plan, so why back up an argument with outdated info?

Thanks for that, id never have known.. Gonna make up a couple of rubber feet that should do the job.. Also "borrowed" the GFs 9600se, the vga connection is on a ribbon cable so gonna see if i can mount it somewhere without having to cut the case... "borrowed" a gig of ram off her too....

Just as an FYI, hot glue won't hold metal to metal for long. As soon as the metal turns cold, it will lose it's grip.

You might want to try some JB Weld. :)

Hey, when ya gonna get back at this, eh?!
I have some lo-tech ideas for your analog meters:
1-hook one right up to your HD activity light through a trim pot. Maybe calibrate it with your power on led so that full on is at the max reading of the meter so it won't peg out.
2-hook the other one up to a thermistor for a temprature indicator, OR:
if you're using a network card that has an activity led, hook it up to that with a trim pot.
    Wha-lah! Movin' meters!

Ask away... Had a few problems with my ticker... as in it wasnt working.. on the mend now, a month+ off work, plenty of time to mod if i wasn't so wrecked all the time

Picked up a tiny dell.. plan is to strip it n put everything straight into the case.. It should all fit in easy enough.. And its completely silent..

    spec:
Dell Optiplex GX150 - Small Form Factor
    P3 - 1ghz
    256megs ram
    185gig hdd
    Floppy Drive
    Cd-Rom Drive
    2 X serial port, 4 X usb ports
    1 X parallel port
    1 X vga port
    100meg lan connection

Getting better now, as soon as it arrives im gonna get stuck into getting it finished...

Dang, better take it easy for a while, huh?
BTW, I'm totally copying you and have already started on one of these, in an old Scott 530T Reciever.

That looks great! I love the retro theme. Lucky for me my Dad is chucking his P4 2,6GHz out next christmas, he's getting a new PC. Guess what the OLD PC is going to become. I'll definately keep this mod in mind when I start my HTPC mod out, absolutely fab. Thanks for sharing! :thumb:
