So they've done what they should have in the first place. No cookie for you Apple. No cookie at all.

It's not really one-button anymore, as the article implies.

I've tried it before in the Apple Store, and I wasn't especially impressed with the little ball in the middle.

Does anyone else really not like these 'button for a mouse' things? You try to press the mouse button and the whole thing moves. It's useless for clicking and dragging to as you have to grip onto the tiny areas of the mouse that don't move when you click. I think this is one area where design as seriously presided over functionality.

Absolutely, and i find that little ball they use as a scroller very anoying to use. And unlike the average mouse, there really isent a seperation from left button and right button wich scrollers seperate. So i find myself always pushing the right button accidentally...

Personally I'm more of a fan of trackballs, and would use one on my mac if I could find a decent one. The mighty mouse ain't bad though, the only flaws I can think of are that only a few things take advantage of the left-right scrolling of the ball, button 4 that you activate by squeezing it takes some getting used to, and it feels too much like the other (one button) mac mice, so I keep on trying to right click and suchlike when using the Macs at University.

Exactly. And who wants to scroll diagonally anyways?

I had a mightly mouse for a while, its really nice to use.

The only great downfall of it is the damn ball, or nipple as some people call it.

Funny story about the nipple actually. I went into the apple store in Birmingham to get it replaced (Twice.), the first time, I walked up to the genius bar, and simply said 'My nipple has ceased functioning'.

I got a strange look untill I presented him with the mighty mouse.

And honestly, I think it's way overpriced. Even the wired version is $50. My current mouse is Logitech's G5, it has tons of features, it's comfortable, has adjustable sensitivity and weight (via a removable cartridge). It's only like $41 on Newegg right now.

Next year you hear the big apple thinkers say "Why dont we put two evenly sized buttons on this mouse!" I swear that'd make me buy a mac.
