    Project : Bus (a temporary name) ()

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Wassup everyone. So I decided to start my first project log in Bit-Tech forums. This is not my first mod ,but my earlier mods were, how can I say… Hmmmm… not In a good shape….
I must apologize for my English. I am from Lithuania and English is not my first language, so be lenient.

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Story:
I am a big fan of classic cars. I like most of the classic cars, from American muscle, to European Austin Mini, Fiat 500d, Jaguar C,E,D type and so on. But my favourites are works of Porsche family. These are famous VW Kaefer (bug), Porsche 356, 550-Spyder and many others. It’s a pitty ,but these models aren’t very good for modding. But there is one cars, which is almost perfect in it’s shape, has an impesive history and a soul of a classic car. It’s a VW Bus. Flower Power !!!! (I’m not hippie)

It’s hard to find another car with such history and spirit. It’s hippies, surfing…

If you want know more about these cars, visit:

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I have chosen this subject, because:
    1. I don’t have money for a classic car, what is why I will try to give it’s spirit for my computer…
    2. I cant say that I like rust modds and modds then trying to make as nasty and disgraceful as they can. IMHO, modding should be nice to look and bring smile to your face, instead of making you to trow yourself up. And I hope that this mod will be so.

A few sketches for a start:

These sketches are very temporal, because I now I have a lot of orther ideas,, which will change the look, but I hope ,that in the end it should look something like these sketches.

So, the case. This is an old fujitsu siemens case. It’s Atx. I bought it for 7 euros. But this case isint so old like it looks. It has a rack for hdd and case opens without screws. So I’m quite pleased with it.

    Works:

I started works fom front panel. I decided that it is worthless to use so much putty (I think it is called that) and I wanted to round the shape, so I glued a piece of plexi.

Quite interesting purchase – solar powered light. I will use it to lighten a VW logo in a front. I newe so anything solar powered in modding, so this is quite unique…

to be true hippy, just paint it brown and then get out your paint pens and see how many leaves and colours you can draw all over it....

I like the concept, curious to see how it will end up.

Try to take a color that stands out, like the red.

These pastel colours look nice when they are in 3D, but in reality i am not so sure about that, becouse they do not sparkle so much. At least i think so. But on the orther hand these colours are original of VW Bus.

Thank you all for support and advices.

I'm thinking about that ,but i'm not sure about the materials. I could do them from plexi and then lighten them, or i can buy four small wheels, and then paint how i want... Maybe anyone else have a better idea ? I'm keen to hear it.

Yeah. This is original and this is classic, but i'm not so sure about the exlusivity of this color. It can be quite dull... Poll will show it :D
