Can you guys link me to some good photo enhancement programs? As there are some photos I would like to touch up. I.e. to remove grain, hue/saturation etc. Different color/setting profiles etc. Thanks

    Picasa?

Picasa's really an organization program, with some added touch up features - think of it as iPhoto for Windows.

The features are really basic, but shoul work fine. Of course, nothing beats the fabled, but costly Photoshop. If you're looking for a free, but still fairl powerful editor, check out GIMP. I haven't used it myself, but a lot of people seem to like it, and it looks like it's well supported with more features than what an average person may need.

Of course, there are also Adobe's consumer versions of Photoshop. Very, very stripped down copies, with the aim on ease of use more than anything else.

Nope this is not what i meant. Lets make it a bit more simple, what 'third party' program do you use to remove grain in a photograph?

I'm going to throw Adobe's Lighroom into the mix, even though it is in beta. and it's free till January.

The smooth function? all progams can do it if you lean how.
FYI gimp is the the same power as photoflop and is on the same level.
Almost everything photoflop does, gimp does.
Anything else i havent learnt to do.
Do your bank balance a favour and download gimp you get photoflop power without the dent in your pocket(unless your a thief)

A simple google would have revealed that it's for Mac OS and Windows.

It was originally mac only, though.
