So I was looking at maybe putting the engine inside, but I think it's way too big. It sure won't fit between the drive cage rails and it would probably prevent a video card from staying in the slot.

I added some lights to the right side to shine out of the side scoops.

Here's some pics of the lights so far.

Make your own mount so it sits lower and looks more at home in the case off of the base it is currently on?

I actually considered cutting the engine in half so that it sits lower.

id say see if you cant make it fit in the remaining drive bays and make an acrylic front for them as to showcase it from the front.

The motherboard arrived today. (The second one I bought)

    I set the Proc in

    and the Hyper48 heatsink

And then the memory was seated

Lastly I replaced to IO plate

More to come. I'm gonna modify the heatsink so that it appears to have this on it.

Here's another pic of the motherboard with all the cards, thus far.

I put the glass back on the front too.

I also have been doing a bit of Soldering to take out the switches these cathodes come with. I don't want a bunch of switches on the back panel. When you power up the lights come on and then they turn off when you power down.

    For the loose lighting cables...

...I'm glueing them all down. Trust me, a glue gun is always nice to have around.

Lastly, I'm thinking of adding a UV cathode above the motherboard. There will be a few UV cathodes inside to really show off the UV sensitive Mobo.

2 things one hot glue will or may pop off metal once it's cooled I would recommend some silicone sealant. Its good for that stuff.
2 How does that cold heat thing work? Does it give good joints and can it be used for anything large?

IMO coldheat sucks, regular iron is faster and more responsive.

I think using the engine would make this project look too childish.

Nah,would look cool behind some acrylic in the spare drivebays, but if i were you i would either get some different fans that are quieter (like Silenx) or plan to invest in a fan controller.

A fan controller is out of the question. I'm giving this PC to my In-laws on Sep 10th. They know enough about computers to turn it on and play Hangaroo. I am not giving them the power to control the fans that cool the PC. They could easily never have them run. Besides, I've listened to the pc running already and was impressed by the low noise.

I could never stand seeing the drive bay cage from the window.

Can you think of something I can put there to cover it up that'll look cool? I thought about making a dealer window sticker for the 1971 Dodge Charger SuperBee and put that there. What do you think?

in my project im gonna cover the entire drive bay cage with acrylic. kinda like what modsquad did in his black narcissus project. i guess u could use a mix of acrylic and mesh or just lay a piece of aluminium over the entire cage. maybe add some details like tubes and stuff to make it look more like an engine

when i used one i had the same impression

    1. The contacts are HUGE its a massive area
    2. Its slow
    3. Its not very effective

I prefer my soldering station too, and with a head small enough to even solder a motherboard
