very clean case u got here and i like the paint scheme, simple yet effective why are you using those 90 deg bends, isnt it said that they kill flow?!?! good work anyhows
Thanks. About the 90º bends, i know they kill flow, but that only means 1 or 2º up in the temps, so i prefer to sacrifice 1 or 2º for aesthetics... And now, a little update, starting some of the lightning and finished sleeving the hdd power cables. Not my best pictures, but when i reach the end i will get a friend (professional photographer) to take really good photos, for now my poor ones will have to do... Here they go: I have to buy two of these: One for the aquatube, other for the pump, that way i'll get all the circles in the top iluminated... Hdd power cables sleeved.... I like the way the light gets through..., I think these last photos show better how the light looks in real life... This is not finished yet... Greetings.
That looks really nice and clean. I must say that im a fan of the right angle water tubes, it keeps the cae from getting hectic. You say that you arnt done yet... what else do you have to do?
Thanks... Well, i still have some detail work to do, finish the lights, make more acrylic pieces, and one or two things... Just need to keep focus...
Update Well, finally, i got some free time to do some more work on the project, i have made some changes and a bit of the detail work that was missing. I've bought an Aquaero with a fluxometer and a water temperature sensor. As i already had used all the 5 1/4 bays, something had to go. The victim was the Thermaltake Aquabay, wich let me space to put the card reader as well as the Aquaero. To keep the aesthetics i've made acrylic faceplates to all of them. The dvd cover is made of two acrylic plates, i've made also a button wich i glued to the original dvd button. It's all glued with double faced tape. In some images the acrylic plates seems dirty, with scratchs, but believe me, in naked eye it doesn't show that much, this is due to the flash. Although, they are all going to be cleaned and polished. Here it's already turned up... Behind the aquadrive acrylic plate, i've putted two white leds, wich are connected to a switch for on/off. A 120mm Noiseblocker, it is to push up the air intake when needed, i'm still thinking if i will paint the insides of the fan white like the others, i kind of like to see it this way... Already with acrylic cover and grill.
Continued... These acrylic pieces were one, but i splitted in two so it can show a little of white ... The lightning that was missing in the cpu and ram area is done, with five white leds, connected to an on/off switch. Here with the two cathodes on... I've made also an acrylic plate for the Aquadrive rear... The cables for the Aquaero sensors. From up... From behind... The back rad has also an acrylic cover and grill... And now it's almost done... One or two acrylic plates in strategic places, some vynil work and a little of detail work and it's done. Greetings.
Thanks. And when you say diffusers on the leds, are you meaning something to spread the ligth in an even way and not to show directilly the leds? If so, it may be a good suggestion. I'll try that. Thanks for the idea, i think it's one of the main reasons to post a project log: to share our work, but also to get help, ideas, etc from the community. Greetings.
Thats what I mean, just so they aren't so harsh. Normally its a shaped piece of acrylic, like on a light of flourescent lights.
I havent seen this mod before, but I've never seen anything like it either.. Very, very good attention to the black and white colourscheme. I like the grills thats goes around the case too, maybe you could make a logo on one of the drivebays in the front? Good work! Petter
Thanks, about the logo in the front you're very close to the truth. I'm going to do some work there, and as to do with the vynil work i mentioned above... Greetings.
Dont know why I havent seen this mod before!..... lookin rally good!! I really like the white n black theme, looks really "artsy" ... in a good way.
Weird, this is the first time I'm seeing this too. Looks great anyhow! It's always pleasing to see someone doing something else than the usual christmas tree decorations. Style is the key. I'm planning on making a b/w case also and your case seems to have some really great ideas. Mind if I borrow some of them? Don't worry about the straight bends. One bend increases the pressure differential in your loop by about 1%. As the water speed drops after each one, the drop is smaller and smaller. A good guess would be that for every bend, your loop gets 0.005 centigrades warmer. So a few dozen really make no difference.
@Javerh You can borrow all the ideas you want, it's a honour to me. About the bends/flow/temperature, you're probably wright, i've tested without many of the bends and the temperature stays the same, the flow gets a litlle reduced but about a 0,1 l/h so, i don't think it's a problem, at least in my setup... Greetings.
This has been bothering me since I posted it. 0.005 is just for one round. The 1 to 2 degrees is more right.
In my case the temps stayed the same, only the flow gets a bit reduced with the bends, i think (when the flow is not very high) the bends aren't very important...
