    Hi there,

Ive just got myself two raptors and am wondering if I need expensive SATA cables to get the best out of them?

There just OEM models so no manual and anyhow, WD is gonna say i NEED WD cables true or not

    I've never found a difference.

no, you wont find a difference. The only thing WD offer is a secure clip on their cables (for WD drives obviously) since regular sata plugs arn't the strongest things around but its by no means a requirement. You'll be fine with the cables you have.

They won't make any difference to the quality of the signal, but you might want to consider WD's own 'SecureConnect' SATA cables?

They provide a more secure connection than most other SATA cables... [IMG]

They were specifically designed for their Raptors and Caviar SE SATA range of drives... but they'll work on any drives which use 'SecureConnect' connections ;)

Their WD sata cable doesn't allow you to use SATA power. Only molex. What gives?
