Hey MS. I just got done filling my loop for hellgate and if your loop is anything like mine then you'll be pleased to hear it was ridiculously easy to fill. Took about 10 minutes and only 2 fills. Runs great as well. Also nice work on the cover that plexi is very elite.

That is great-news Foz. Revive your project-thread and post-us some pictures.. My divider-plate cover is sheet aluminum (1mm) not plexi. Hence the update title.. Very little plexi (acrlyic) will find it's way into this project..

@MC: The price for the chrome-plating was $200US for the pictured items.

    EDIT: (10-8-06)
tested both the DVD drive and PSU..no-problems to report.. :thumb:
I also had the opportunity to spend a few hours with the Optimus mini-3

I had visions of integrating one into the design of this project. I must say, I am glad I did not have to spend any cash on one..
    the hardware is quite good..
    but the software... HOORRENDOUS...
the "never-ending hourglass of death"....@ computer shutdown, program not responding was the recurring theme.. (using 1.0.27B software)..
The software renders the mini-3 all but useless.. :waah:
IMO, this product should not have been released. It is not ready (not even close) for prime-time.. A shame, I feel the O-mini3 has potential.. BUT, put your wallet back into your pocket..Wait for real (non-beta) software... "the problem with cutting-edge is the mess the blood makes"..

Write your own? Or use some other LED device software and then use a command prompt code to assign commands.

For the asking-price, it should be "plug-n-play"....

What software do the makers of the buttons offer?
That is a shame about the software because its kill the hardware.

Dang those chrome parts look good (wondering if I should also... :hehe:). Also great job with the divider plate, I couldn't stand the original one either.

For the Optimus "keyboard", think about the pain if they had made this one http://www.artlebedev.com/everything/optimus/. A good idea and all, but would be a real pain in the a** to conf all the buttons on that baby :D

Keep up the always good work.

That cable should have been black like on all the merchandising, the silver braid makes it look like one of the cheap ones you get as Extension cables.

Let us know how you get on with it :p

It's a shame about the Optimus. IMO, it should not have been released with beta-software. I will say Art. Lebedev Studio's has been updating that software quite frequently. Sooner/later they will get it right.
With the weekend upon us, I will get back to work. The good-news is I am on vacation next-week, which should translate into afew updates in the coming week.
I also wanted to show you what will become a vent on the MB-cover for this project:
I saw it and had to have it.. It is a HD carb air-cleaner from West Coast Choppers
It measures 170x100x50mm high. Yes, more biker-parts.. :hehe:

    made from polished billet-Alu.
This unit is soo "me"..Perfect for the project. It will become a focal-point of the case interior..
It will just be a matter of making a mounting-bracket to match-up with the backside of the unit. Perhaps work an 80mm fan inside.

As for work this up-coming week. My plan is to work from the bottom-up.
Need to fab a PSU mounting plate to get the unit bolted in, also relocate the support/base for the over-sized PSU. Get the dual120mm Innovatek radiator installed (bottom-case-cut). Fab some support-pillars for the divider plate. Then a sheet metal (ALu) cover-plate for that area. Fab a mounting bracket for the two AC aquatubes, which will be mounted above the PSU inside the case. The top-mount AC aquatubes also need a custom mount. They will end-up about 7mm (recessed) lower that stock..
    Stay-Tuned..this should be a productive-week..

I like the West Coast Choppers logo..These custom-bike builders are a great inspiration to me...I feel these guys are doing to bikes what we are doing to computers (I see a parallel)..Won't change a thing..

    @T3D : the oblong-box measures 170X100X50mm

after afew more beers, followed by afew hours sleep work will commence.
I should have the first update posted Sunday. Then, with the aid of vacation there should be at least two more (perhaps three) next-week..
    Black Rain will fall......
