Arrived today..

 

Whilst i'm at it, I may as well post mine. I've had it close to a week already but I had been waiting for ages because I got mine sent from Hong Kong (exchange rates and cheap memory ***!)

It's a 2Ghz version with 2GB of RAM but only 60GB HDD as a 120GB is on it's way from Dabs fairly soon.

What I love about this machine is that all the cables come from one side only.. no more tentacle'd freak of a machine and that the HK version uses a much more user friendly (imo) 'return' or 'enter' key than the UK version.



And does anyone know when some decent skin cases/sleeves are coming out for the Macbook? The only ones I can find are the Foof! sleeves, and although they seem good, they're not what i'm looking for.

Don't mind the flash, dorm lighting is hardly ideal. Of course, it's not normally sitting on a cardboard paper file either...

 

this is my tasty little setup. Wouldn't trade her for the world! btw, don't mind the speakers. they are from the 95 gateway my parents bought. lol...

 

Hahaha '95 gateway... it shows. Does the Apple keyboard acutally stay clean like that or does it get nasty after use being so white? I was going to get one when I was at the Apple store, but they ones on the display models were really gross, and my grey-ish keyboard does a decent job of hiding that (though there's not much sense in owning a gaming keyboard for my Mac). That and a lot of people seem to have had problems with them after a while, if the Apple.com reviews are anything to go by.

 

I try and take car of it. I don't really eat around it, and its a habit to wash my hands before touching the macbook anyways. I love the keyboard, I have rather large hands, so the keys are great the way they are setup. I haven't really had the keyboard all that long, just a couple of months, but I wipe her down with a clorox cleaning cloth every few days, just to take off any grime that might be on it!

 

i clean my apple keyboard with a bit of rubbing alcohol once every 4 weeks or so... i've never really seen it dirty though...

takes a bit to get used to the touch of the keys on it though

Hmm.... loaner blackbook while the MBP is in for repairs. No, the screen doesn't really look that crappy, just some odd flash effect.

 

Firehed, is the macbook on loan from the apple store?

 

I didnt know they give a courtosy lappy whilst peoples are in the repairs.

Is this because you have the Applecare thingy?

 

I sure as hell didn't get a loaner when my MBP went in for 2 weeks under applecare!

 

Neither did I, and mine went back twice, once for new logic board then again the day after I got it back for a replacement backlight inverter.

 

i did, but then again i probably own somewhere around $20,000 in apple hardware, and am tied to a business account...

so probably not a fair comparison

 

I had to ask, and they made me give a deposit for it. Worth it - I just can't deal with only having Windows for a week.
