    Greetings! :)

Been hanging around here at BT for a while, and I can't help but be inspired from all the great mods on this forum. Anyway, I thought I'd make a log of my humble project. Hopefully I can get some feedback and ideas from you guys.

My goal is to build a fairly high performance air cooled computer, and hopefully it'll be silent as well. I'm not gonna use any plexi or lights, but rather try to make everything as neat and tidy as I can. I guess I'm building _my_ dream machine.

    Case etc:
    • Lian Li PC60BPlusII
    • Mist 600W modular PSU
    • Thermalright CPU cooler
    • Mist 120mm with adapter for the CPU cooler
Hardware components (still in the mail):
    • Asus P5B Dlx mobo
    • Intel C2D 2.4GHz
    • 2Gb Kingston HyperX PC6000 CL4
    • MSI GF7900GTO 512Mb
    • 2 x Seagate Barracuda 320Gb S-ATA's

    Ok, on with the pictures.

This is what I've got so far.

Took most of the case apart for inspection. Installed noise damper on the stock 120mm front fan.

Surface of the Thermalright cooler. Not bad.

Test fitting the CPU cooler setup.

My first attempt at cable sleeving...

    Another shot of cable sleeving.

That's as far as I've come today. Hopefully the internals will arrive soon, as I need the mobo to take measurments for some holes and stuff.

    More to come. :)

    Yeah, he probably is.. :thumb:

Trial fitted the Mist PSU. It has very nice pre-sleeved cables. I connected the ATX cable, just to see how it would fit. I'll be trying to hide the cables as much as I can. Here's a picture of the case as it sits right now.

Nei det er det ikke. Mulig at det er Microplex sitt merke, men det er ikke "produsert" av de...

    In English:
No It's not. It might be Microplex' brand, but it's not "produced" by them.

This came in the mail today:

Asus sure knows how to make good looking mobo's.

    Trial fitted the mobo.

    Masking up the mobo tray.

    More masking.

    And a little more.

    Painting is next. :thumb:

    Update part 2

Finished painting the mobo tray. The color is flat black. Sprayed one layer of primer, and 5 layers of paint. Not 100% happy with the result, but it will have to do.

Also fitted the CPU cooler fittings to the mobo. The instructions doesn't say that you actually need 3 arms to do this.

That'll be it for today. I've still not decided wether I should paint the whole inside of the case or not..

I'm confused. You said you weren't going to use any plexi, so why put all the hard work into making the inside look sexy?
