Just getting started Im doing this in my quite small kitchen :p

The pieces are starting to pile up :)

And so Is the sawdust... I had a real blast cleaning up :wallbash:

    A small tribute...

Now were getting somewhere, this is as you probably can see the basic structure... next up is sanding down the edges to make it all fit together...

and then some routing to make the slots for the psu and drive-rack...

Also I asked about a radialfan with about these dimensions...

    hope you like it :dremel:

    so... a little update...

FINALLY I've had time to get somewhere with this project... All parts have been corrected at my old school since the circular saw i borrowed did'nt seeme to cut at right angles, they're not exactly perfect at the moment but I'll fill in the gaps with some putty later on...

    some pics...

Oh god I better not whine ever again about having to mod in my room! Damn using a circular saw in a kitchen is something new!

The plan however looks good. I'd consider stealthing the front panel though. Atleast the CD and the floppy drives.. They don't look too nice IMO.

Just to clear things up...I wasn't shouting bad words at you or something ;)
Just a funny picture which happened to have a swearword in it, to which the mods reacted quickly and appropriately. Nice work!

But I still can't see any pictures in your last post :(
    Is it just me?

I can't see em either. There is some sort of "trick" necessary to see them. I quoted his post, copied the links and opened them directly. After returning to this thread, i can see the images. Weird, ain't it? Maybe there is a problem with the size (800x600) or the server prevents hotlinking.

I can only see the pictures when I download them with the links from quoting
should be a problem with the google host, because the pictures can't be seen in the browser window (with the direct pictures adress). :duh:

hmm.... wierd... must be google somehow, I'll just upload them to some other place later on...

yeah, im thinking of stealthing the drives somehow... probably I'll get a cd-front from coolermaster and blending it in with putty... the floppy aint going to be a floppy, It'll be a frontpanel with headphones, microphone and usb instead...

have you tryed sealing the wood first, otherwise the wood will just keep absorbing the paint!

Yeah you'll need some bondo and primer to make the screws invisible after the final paint.

EDIT: btw for all the macgyvers out there, you can make filler from saw dust and wood glue  if you don't need lots of it, that works fine. for larger surfaces that's not too good method, but hiding screws that works.

Thats true, you need to apply lots of filler and base coat before painting.
