Ok I've been playing the game call of duty2 online now for over a year. You can choose to run it in dx7 or dx9. I've been running it in Dx7 since I bought it because I get a ton more fps. when i run in dx9 i get crappy fps. Lately while playing its just been shutting off. no error, not overheating, just turning off completely. It WILL NOT do this when i run in dx9.

    Here are my specs:

    Intel Pentium 4 3.21GHz (Prescott)
    1.5GB DDR
    GeForce 6800 Ultra GT

i even reformatted and did a clean install of XP home because of this. Still no help. all my drivers are current and my windows update has been run.

Any help would be a life saver!!

    Thanks!

Well i think now u should run in DX9 & update ur nVidia drivers & also try to install a fresh copy for ur game too

I have the 6800 gs & i also play this rocking game but mine run fine on dx 9.

fixed the problem by turning up the voltage on my PSU from 1.3 to 1.8
