    I am surprised they missed the christmas market, but I guess most people (general public) wont be buying PC's with Vista straight away.

    I for one can't wait to have a play with it and see how it behaves in an Active Directory environment.

    I think they will make more money by realising it after Christmas, becuase people will want PC's for Christmas, and when they see there is a new Windows out, they run to get it.....

    "Thank you for purchasing Microsoft (tm) Windows (tm) Vista (tm). Please wait 17 hours while we download the stuff that wasn't ready when we made this software...

    <20 hours pass>

    "Updating complete. Microsoft (tm) Windows (tm) Vista (tm) will now determine if you are using a genuine copy of Windows (tm)..."

    "We're sorry, this is not a genuine copy. Please wait while we reformat your hard drive"

    Cthippo - :hehe: Hopefully that's not from personal experience.

    Me, I'm waiting for version _.11 / OSR2 / SE / SR1 / ... - at least the first revision with all the "stuff that wasn't ready when we made this software"

    Good point, I hadn't considered what vista will be like under active directory. The operating system seems quite different from the 2k/xp standpoint so I am interested to see how well it integrates.

    Also isn't microsoft supposed to release a new version of server that will play very nicely with the new vista stuff? Also isn't vista supposed to use a completely new deployment system... something about Ximage comes to mind.

    Linux manages without drivers for most components.

    All my drivers came when I booted the thing up, even my Nova-T.
    That was pretty damn cool.

    You'll be pleased to know that Vista's got a EULA change too... for the better!

    So, licensing like XP, then. Rather less draconian than Vista had before...

    Wow, glad to see that! I'm still not going to buy Vista, but it does tent to infer that Microsoft are 1, listening to their customer base, and 2, continuing to be less evil. Perhaps they have turned a corner

    I can't wait until Windows Vista! Not long to go now. I'm currently using RC1 as my primary OS which i'll upgrade to RC2 when I have the time.

    All of my drivers work. Even my Wi-Fi usb adapter.

    I'm all set just need $250 for Vista Ultimate :p
