My chipset is getting really hot so I'd prefer to move my gfx card as part of it covers my chipset fan. http://www.dfi.com.tw/Upload/Product_Picture/LP%20nF4%20%20SLI-DR.jpg So would it be ok if I was to move my gfx card to the other slot, or will it cause problems?
I've run a graphics card in the "other" slot before but never with the first one empty (not SLI, but with RAID adapters) It's worth a try, you may need to mess about with the SLI settings to get it to work though.
Not sure for your mobo, but I did that on my A8N32-SLI early on if I recall and I never had any SLI issues. Saying that, the 32-SLI is a jumperless.
You'll want to shift the jumper block to change both 16x slots to 8x (default distribution is 16x-2x), but it should work just fine.
Nope, my graphic card's always been in the other slot because it's too long and the chipset fan is too tall.
Awsome thanks, I'll try it later and let you know if it was worth it Edit - BTW It worked fine without having to swap any jumpers, but I couldnt fit either my TV card or sound card above it lol So I had to move it back anyway.
