Holy crap, that's amazing! I love it!!
    Couple questions for ya...

    1) How much does that beast weigh?
    2) What method did you use to bend the aluminum pieces?

    Sweet case bro :thumb:
I'm especially envious of the shell you made. Gorgeous!

A question: How do you get to those vertical harddrives? If you just open the top point won't it still be a mission to disconnect the cables? In my mind they are meant to be fairly removable. If I'm misunderstanding sorry :worried:

Will keep my eye on this mod! Awesome button as well :D

Thanks guys, I appreciate this a lot! About the weight: It's actually not very heavy at all, it weighs about 10kg so far and i think that's to be expected considering that almost everything is in Aluminum.

To bend the metal I just clamped it down onto my vice and used a rubber hammer... VERY conventional indeed :D

The connectors/cables for the harddrives are integrated in the bottom of acrylic racks, meaning the only thing you'll have to do is slide the drive into place and press it down, and it'll connect properly. I'll upload some nifty images on the subject later on...

Woah! Awesome idea! Looking good so far with all the acrylic, keep it up man.

Edit: LOL. Just realised I had only read the front page. ;D

Case looks sweet man, but the large screws/bolts/nuts are sort of off-putting, possibly make inset ones?

A small update (First in a LONG time!)...

I've realized that these drive-bay coverplates are just plain stupid. Not just that they are'nt very practical, it looks better without them! Get lost... The IDE-USB2 adapters for the drives will arrive soon. A Big, Big thanks to AC Ryan (www.acryan.com) for providing them for me!

Much better! Thoughts & comments are very welcome... I've removed the protective film from the black acrylic on top. The first image got a bit blurry though. Also, as you can see I've milled 4 fanguards for the four vents on the sides (4, for, four ? :worried: )

I've also cut out the raw material for the back end of the case. one piece Aluminum and one in orange acrylic.

    More will arrive tomorrow! :hip:
