I don't know whether this song can be interpreted as being rude or not, but my Mum is intending to use it for secondary school kids to illustrate grammar use. However, she doesn't understand a lot of German colloquialisms and I'm wondering if someone can translate the lyrics to see if there is anything in it that could be badly construed. Cheers for any help in advance.
He is talking about high school students... I would try googling for german->english translator sites and trying them all, so see if anything makes sense and then if you don't turn up results get a german speaking person to translate it for you. Even then though something may get "lost in translation."
I wanna point out...nur in this case means only or just. I have done these things "only for you" sort of thing. For example: Ich trug, nur für dich, Im Sommer Birkenstocksandalen, I wore, just for you, Birkenstocks during/in the summer. There is a reference to "putting something in a pipe and smoking it" but not in the sense of pot etc, more like "hey put that it your pipe and smoke it" (insult, sorta) also talks about drinking alcohol, but not in any sense that I'd consider inappropriate. If you want a full line by line translation i'd be happy to do so for you, just let me know.
I just want to make sure theres nothing bad in there really, when my Mum read it out to me her "translation" came through as "Take the smoke of my gun"
Which part specifically came across as "Take the smoke of my gun"? I'm not seeing anything that would come out like that through a translater He also says he burned his playboy collection. I wouldn't consider any of these things inappropriate, but who knows, maybe even just talking about a porno collection is "inappropriate" in the eyes of the school. My opinion, it's safe to use it.
