Surely the upscale factor would prevent this from getting a 10?

I think this gets a 10 purely for gameplay.. havent stopped playing the demo, off out to get the full game today.. It is a really really good game, first skateboarding game i've every played..

Games don't need to look good to be good.... This game looks great n plays even better..

i still play on THPS3 on my PS2 from time-to-time and i'll agree is much better than the undergroung series.

Looks like a sweet game from the screen shots, had loads of fun playing previous version of tony hawks on the ps2 with my son, so i may buy this as a xmas present for him (well could be for me aswell).

 

I was thinking the same thing as i dont intend to buy a PS3 in a while.

 

One question:

What's a munster?

Glad they have got the series back on track - I used to play THPS1/2/3 religiously, but was extremely disappointed with the underground series - returning a copy the next day after purchase.

 

I think a 10 is a little excessive, but I would agree that the actual gameplay is very impressive. Like most game reviews everything is subjective, so arguing the score is neither relevant or constructive.

It's good to see a developer re-invent a franchise for the next generation instead of just porting a game and adding the now common next generation effects (HDR, Motion Blur etc...)

On this point I can't wait to see the first next generation version of the Need for Speed series. EA are taking a year off to build it from the ground up, and I'm expecting big things from it.

Talking about EA, has anyone seen the footage of their new skateboarding simulator 'EA Skate'? It looks incredible!

Wil, disappointed in your skate knowledge! Daewon Song is definitely not a younger face, he was one of the best technical skaters around even back when I was just starting out at like 13 or 14, and also Lyn-Z is not the first girl skater in the Tony Hawk series, Elissa Steamer was at least in THPS2.

Love it. No X360 here in China. But I do rip every peice of fresh curb... Can't miss the only foeigner in the Capital city of Shandong hangin' on the back of buses and taxi's with my DC's throwin' up the West Sides to the pakistani's . I do play the tony hawk 4 4 the ps2 with the homey's...

I am so buying a PS3 when it arrives, probobly when the ps4 comes out damn China/Japan relations...

What I find weird is Bit gives this a 10 and just about everywhere else I've seen reviews on gives it a 6 or around that mark.

Yeah, fair comment. As an aside though, this video demonstrates what I mean. It's an absolute classic.
