mine has taken 3 days and only 3 pages are done, the images on bit-tech are really aweful and its taken me AGES to get just a few of them looking any good. ****ing magic wand taking hours

Surely it's design that matters? It's not OUR fault the images are low res.. don't worry about it. If I were judging, I'd go for great design with images as they are over crap design with painstakingly restored images. Spend the time you've expended on removing JPEG artifacts and sharpening on the design.

If anyone has any sense, they must appreciate that the low res of images suppplied should in no way bias the judging.

    I'm on the 3rd page.

Can I advise that no sneak previews are posted?

The images are big enough imho :/ I even smalled them down to 50%... (wel ok, my pages are only 600px wide xD)

dont worry =P ive spent a lot more time on design, but ive been trying really hard to get the images to work into the design, and it was hard since the frames ive created are nice and crisp ;)

I have finished my project, and i'm quite satisfied with it. Those images are very tiny and quality sucks, but they still work pretty well. Ofcourse after printing they look compressed but they still look better than i though. Atleast when printed with Xerox DC240.

Can moderators say how much people have took part in this contest so far?

I can't, no. I've no idea, and until the entries are all on, I doubt even the staff would know.

I've done mine and i say good luck to all of you who entered!

I have a little experience in design but i think it's worth to participate in those contest, it helps to develop new skills.

Only to make the challenge harder I've made it in an open-source program that i didn't knew the existance until 5 days ago. Open Office Draw, I'm quite impressed of that program you should give it a try!

Question: If it's too big to e-mail, can I send it on a CD? I'm going for full A4 300dpi you see, and each one is turning out to be around 12 pages... around 24 pages in total.

No problem, I can host it then. I had read the rules... just forgot.

Cleric: I'm doing one file. Seems pointless creating two seperate files.

My project is about 40MB as .pdf. I have 10pages ready. Ill probably send the mail today...

Doesnt ISP give you webspace with your internet connection? In Finland every ISP does that.

yes it does, but i was worried that if people download it more than once, or more than one downloads it, then I'll exceed my webspace download limit. My files are quite large. No bother... there's plenty of free hosting available. I'm struggling to find teh time to finish it as I always do, so it will probably be teh last minute when I do upload it anyway - it's not like it will be sat on there for days.

I'm (sadly) a 56k-er, can I send in a low-quality sampler? If I were to Win i'd send in the full res version...
