    sry..bad yoke....just couldn't resist:worried:
but anyway, looking good so far. I like everyting that involves alu...and water

Looks like I'm going to have to check each photo really carefully from now on.

Although it does look like it has a handle :D

Finally got the new board installed so I can start working out the cable routing.

Marking out a space for the four pin connector to pass through.

Plus one for the PCI-E connector.

This existing cutout needs to be lengthened to allow the water loop from the hard drive cooler to pass back towards the res.

A little dremel work plus a lot of filing and we have the result...although will need a final tidy.

Made some choices on the layout of the front panel. The 3.5" adapter will house a card reader/floppy combo once I find one in silver that someone has in stock...everyone has the black ones! I may or may not use the fan controller. The LED's are real bright but it would be a shame to ditch all the hard work that someone else did :D

Epoxying the polished aluminium piece to the bottom of the 3.5" adapter to hide the gap between it and the hard drive cooler.

Have another free day tomorrow so more modding to be done. I need to finalise the water pipe routing and the power and data cables to the drives.

Do please give feedback and suggestions as I thrive on them and they inspire me in ways as yet unknown

You made me buy them! I was going aircooled until you forced your polished goodness upon me :naughty:

It is these strange coincidences that make one have faith in a higher power. Either that or you must just have so much crap lying around :D

    You have been PM'd :)

An update from Sunday that I had no time to post until now.
I seemed to spend most of Sunday morning staring at the project working ideas in my head so not much actually got done :wallbash:

However..to keep you interested here is a small update:

The X1900 waterblock looked a bit gunky inside so it had to come apart. I forgot to take a before shot of the base but trust me...it needed a clean.

This is the 'after' shot. It has ben washed and then polished with metal cleaner then washed again.

The plexi top also carefullyy washed and dried.

All safely back together again...will probably leak like a sieve when I test it later :D

The other side....note reflection of 'Mumbles' the penguin from the film Happy Feet...got him free with some washing powder!

Testing the fan controller. Still not sure if I will use this....reckon those seriously bright LED's will get on my nerves. Opinions welcome.

Making sure my SATA DVD/RW will work with the Lian Li stealth bay thingy. It does

Test fit of CPU block to check hose run and also 4 pin MB connector.

More testing of hose runs. Not sure about this one though...going to rethink.

Finally a bit of a general view. I so wish those RAM slots were black and silver...wonder if they could be painted...anyone done this before?

Still waiting on some gear to arrive, one part of which is the MOSFET waterblock to go on the X1900 as I feel there is not going to be enough airflow and they can get a bit toasty. Its also more polished goodness even if it won't be very visible :D

    Thats all for today.
Please make comment...good or bad. It is only with your feedback that I get new ideas. So far more people have been interested in my cat. I promise to post another cat pic if I get more comments :p

The LEDs on that fan controller can be replaced with one's that are less bright if you want. And it can be used as a light/UV controller either;) (And for your pump too if it's adjustable)

Use it - it looks like someone spent a bit of time getting it to match the case :p

A few details to add to the log today.

Got a delivery from Alphacool with the final bits rewquired for the waterloop.

One shiny MOSFET cooler for the X1900xt

One flow indicator. Thought I'd better use one of these as all the tubing is black.

Have had a rethink on some of the piping. Trying to eliminate some of the sharp bends and generally tidy it up. Also made and polished a plate to hide the gap in the floor of the upper case. Much neater I think.

Started work on making metal plates to cover the gap at the end of the mainboard tray...this will make hiding cables all the easier when the time comes.

And for the side of the 5.25" bays to tidy that area.

Both panels cut to shape and polished. Will need to be redone at some point though as the metal I'm using is very thin...its like polishing paper so creases easily. Gives an idea of how it will look though.

Next job is to rip the X1900 out of the rig I'm using now and add the watercooling blocks to it. I have a 7300gs to replace it so I guess no gaming for me until the new rig is complete :(

I promise to have a new picture of the cat on the next update :thumb:

    More work done!

As promised here is picture of cat...believe me he was not happy at all being woken up for this :nono:

Back to the real work :dremel:

In order to route the power cables to drives I had to enlarge the holes slightly...the ones very poorly marked in red.

Started work on swapping the clear tubing for the final black version and properly connecting all the joints...hopefully leak-free but we shall see.

Time to bite the bullet and remove my X1900 from the PC I'm using. Now has 7300gs which is fine for everyday use but the fan is damn loud!
Here is the X1900 with the Accelero removed and new thermal pads installed onto the ram chips.

    A bit of R580 porn

MOSFET cooler removed in preparation for the waterblock.

Backplate for main waterblock installed...these things are real fiddly...too many little washers and springs.

Shot of the finished install of the main waterblock. I forgot to take any pics of installing the MOSFET block but you can all use your imaginations. It was even more fiddly than the main block.

The final product installed with the connecting tube between main and MOSFET block. Quite neat in the end..I was unsure how the two would connect and was worried I end up with a big loop of pipe connecting them.

Spot the problem here :duh: Guess the GPU is going to have to come out to get the RAM installed. Will deal with that at the time I think.

Finally able to finish the waterloop although not in a position to test it yet as the hard drive cooler needs some work.

Stripped down the hard drive cooler, replaced the connecting pipe and cleaned the copper blocks. You won't see it but at least I know its clean :D

    Before
    [IMG]
    After
    [IMG]
    With new pipe
    [IMG]

May have some more later today...or not.

More comments welcome and indeed encouraged.

Playing around looking at ways to further 'shiny-up' this project. So made a couple of metal plates to cover the area below the hard drive cooler and one to hide the back of the floppy and DVD area.

Not too sure if I like the look though. I'd appreciate honest opinions :thumb:

thats looks alright, but um i think you should get rid of the 2 80mm fan places in the back. they are annoying to my eyes. also, all those psu cables might need some management after system done. 1 question, why didn't you mount the rad on the bottom of the case?

how effective is the HDD cooler?

Is it the surface area of the top/bottom mounting blocks that are better, or does cooling the sides equal to better overall temps in HDD?
