i have a e6600 @ 3.6ghz and a 7900GT and i score less than 5500 on 3dmark06 my scores http://service.futuremark.com/orb/resultanalyzer.jsp?projectType=14&XLID=0&UID=7604815 is this an ocing prob, my e6600 is stable though. pci express clock thing is set at 105 and pci express frecuency thing locked at 33.3 mhz
its the graphics that are letting tyou down. to get over 3000 in CPU score within 3DMark06 is tough, so no probs there. Within nVidia control panel, i set them as follows to get the best results AF: off Anis. mip filter opt: on Anis. sample opt: on AA: off Texture Clamp: Hardware Force mipmaps: off Multi-GPU (dont know if this counts for you): Alternate Multiple graphics card Accel: Single display Texture Filtering: High Performance Threaded optimisation Auto Transparancy AA: off Trilinear optimisation: On V Sync: off

First off, can you post proper compares rather than those URL's please, it's a pain having to log out of FM just to view the scores. Don't see whats wrong with those scores? For a stock 7900GT on an untweaked system, (ie no LOD, service's killed, decent drivers etc) thats about right.... 06 is still heavily GPU limited, even highly clocked Core2's aren't going to make a huge difference Make sure you run on a CLEAN OS install. Just bung on graphics drivers and chipset, then run 3dmark. Make sure all the driver settings are on performance, and you can run LOD tweaks too if you want, might gain you a few points (although the difference is minimal on 06 afaik).
sorry ill post pictures next time. its not the gpu scores that confuzed me, its my cpu score went down from >3000 (first post) to ~2000(third post). then i retried with only a cpu test and cpu score went over 3000 again. oh well it loooks like time forrrrrrrr...... more overclocking, both cpu and gpu.
Erm CPU score problems is probably because you have multiple tasks open at the same time, the 3D scores are fine.
here be mine... http://service.futuremark.com/compare?3dm06=834241 always seems like ur card does better than mine on this thing...so weird...
you should get over 6200, thats what I got with a 6600 @3.2 and a bfg 7900gt 675/800, have you checked your overclocked cpu isn't throttling ?
how do i detect throttle? throttlewatch dont work for core 2 duos. i dont think i have throttle, but is there a way to disable it? stock gpu: 500(core) 1.5ghz(mem)
drop the overclock by 25% and see if your score drops as expected, you may find you get same score which would indicate throttling.
throttling is from heat i presume. heat will be no issue soon as water cooling is coming : ) maybe vdroop mod to.
Huh.. I have a E6300 and a 7900GS with 1Gb RAM also and i score near the 8k with gpu and in the 7ks with cpu score..
darklord, im not trying ot be a *** or anything, but 8k with a 7900 gs and a e6300 is a bit absurd. unless you ocd the hell out of that chip and even so with a 7900 gs..... lets see some screenshots and proove u aint cheatin edit: i clicked on the link in ur sig. it oped like 50 dam popups.
Are you thinking of 3dMark05? If not, lies. Or could be a bugged run. If you truely did get a score of 8k on 3dmark06, run it again and see what you get. Also, make sure its running the test at 1280x1024 and not at 1024x768 or something. @zhangmaster12: your score is about right for that graphics card. 3Dmark is weighted towards gfx, not cpu... You need to overclock that gfx card to get a better score!
