my budget is 300-450 i am goin with AMD but its a hard choice, should i go single core or dual core? I dont game that much, just some SIM games but thats all. What kind of mobo should i look into? I was thinkin maybe amd 4000+, but i really dont know. Any suggestions? thanks guys
I'm really not into AMD's chips, so I don't know which is which. I would definetely go for Dual Core, for futureproofness.
amd opteron 3200 $70 ASUS A8N5X $73 Antec SmartPower 2.0 500W $70 video card of your choice case of your choice
lamboman: Is it big news for you there's not only britts here? Though it's definitely a good thing to say the currency of the budget
in the $300-450 range, no peripherals: Intel Core2Duo E4300 Biostar P965 mobo XClio 450BL psu 2x512 DDR2 800 And whatever hard drive and case and video you want.
If you in any way can afford an C2D-setup (E4300) then go for it. If you don't have the $$ needed, then I guess the X2 3800+ won't be too bad idea. Just look at the Price/speed-ratio of the X2-series and pick the one with the best. There's no other differencies AFAIK.
bit of a personal one but if your spending 300-450 your not gonna get anything at all i would just look for a deal on the internet for a desktop try dell theyre rather cheap
You can forget a dual core system... or anything like it for that matter, on a budget of just $300 - $450 (£155 - £230) You'll be hard pushed to find a new system at all on such a low budget... so you'd be better advised keeping your eyes on forums like this for anybody selling an older system
You can't get dual-core, but you can buy an Athlon64 system off of newegg for that price. They have a combo with a s939 3400+ and an Asus mATX motherboard for $95, you can also get 1GB of DDR400 for $77, a 6800GS for $99 and a 160GB SATA harddrive for $55-60. Then you just need to find a case(there is COOLER MASTER Centurion 534 that is only $40) a Power Supply(check the power supply thread stickied in this forum), a DVD drive, and a cheap CPU cooler. You can probably get that for around $450, but it may be a bit over with shipping.
If its 450 you could probably get a lower end core 2 duo, but with little change left to buy the other components, soz,
i checked my vendors, and i cant even get close to that...you need 550+ depending on what peripherals and software you need...save up...or buy a dell
To the people who said to buy a Dell or save up, well i spent about 430-450 on build.
