Ah well, usually dont spend more than 100quid on a card, and like to get every ounce of performance out of it, gotta a remember that this was over a 4 year period.

with many gfx's in between that where bought used and sold with no probs.

I turned one of these Seagate External HDD's into this
    [IMG] .

Problem was - I was doing a favour for a mate, I tripped on the cord and pulled the running HDD to the ground.

    Starting making a funny noise.
For some reason I thought these things had a fan in it, :duh: so I took it apart, but alas it was the HDD.

Boy does a 300 Gig HDD make some noise or what ?

Anyway the moral to the story is dont let others let cables laying around.

Well unfortunately it seems i have broken my X-fi Music! :duh: Of course I'm going to try and RMA it if it doesn't sort itself out.. cant really think of much to fix it though, tried reinstalling drivers so now ill just try airing it out in the cupboard.. not that my watercooling leak has anything to do with this.. :worried:

Last night I was moving the HDD in my PC one slot up in the case. Being such a simple adjustment I didn't bother to unhook the SATA power connector from the drive. There was almost enough room to pull the HDD back and slide it into the next slot up. Almost. Broke the SATA connector on the edge of the soundcard PCB. Nothing major, but it would have been so easy to just unplug the power connector...but I tried to save one step. Shortcuts.

Oh well, life is a learning experience they say.

Yesterday night my overclocked 6800GT died.
I started playing some splinter cell double agent and after a few min. BAM black screen. At first I just thought the game crashed again but after a restart the screen was still black. Tried my old graphics card and it worked. I think I fried it somwhow, allthough it ran stable with overclocked settings for 2 years or so.
    Now I run a Geforce 4 ti 4800se :waah:

However I did witness someone fry a Quadro PLEX VCS Model II.

I'll leave you to imagine the company president's reaction. :hehe:

about the same as a 486 or E6600, but some brimstone in there (and I don't think that was from the VCS) :hehe: :hehe: :hehe:

    definitely expensive smoke. :hehe:

Well, I've just killed yet another hard drive.
    250GB this time.

I shouldn't have brought that portable drive to a St. Patrick's Day party.
This time I was the one who dropped it as I stumbled home.

When will I learn that computers and alcohol are not a good mix?
