So err, you've gone from wanting to learn C++ to downloading a web server and scripting language... do you even know what you want to do?
AJW06, do as I said in my original post. Install Apache then PHP. Then... If you can't figure those things out then read the readmes that came with the two binaries that you downloaded.
i about about to downoad the php and apache once downloaded what do i do that is where i am getting confused.
What is it you want to actually do? C++ and PHP are two entirely different things. Do you want to write web code or do you want to write an application or game? You dont seem to know yourself....
well i do know myself i am just trying to decide whether i want to continue with web design or try somthing diffrent.
Try something different, you will reap many rewards out of C++ and when you get your first DOS window running with all the cool stuff that you can do with it you will get a great deal of satisfaction.
At the lower end of the market (in terms skills and experience), definitely. This is because it's so easy to get started and pickup the basics. However, if the daily recruitment emails I receive for the Yorkshire area are anything to go by, senior/lead PHP developers are few and far between.
Have you tried reading the installation manuals for each of them? I've just picked up a book on C#, it came with a CD that has sample code etc on, and thus far I'm finding it easy as pie to learn. Then again, I learn better by being thrown in at the deep end.
