I'm hoping there'll be a cut down single slot version available at some point.

Be realistic dude. This happens with every new graphics graphics generation release like this. The uberexpensive high end ones come out and those with tonnes of money get them and gloat, the majority of us look on wishing we had that power, but glad we didn't drop £400-500 on a graphics card. Then a few months later a "mid-range" card comes out with almost as much power, for £150-250 and we all buy one and are extremely happy with this great value and great performance. But the expensive stuff always comes first.

    Lmao, burn. :D

I highly doubt many high-high-end graphics cards will have single-slot options, because of the sheer amount of heat they emit.

and the fact that it has either a vapour chamber or a heatpipe and blower setup to rival my radiator in my bedroom (which may become redundant after installing one of these in my computer anyway)

I'll get it the day it comes out. Stop saying sexy, computer components aren't sexy. Not even ones with pretty lights. They aren't even pretty.

tbh, I know there are alot of camels in dubai (one of my best mates lives there now so i can say this :hehe: ) so maybe a gfx card is sexy, not in my book though.

That's the statement of a virgin if I've ever heard one.

Hardware can be a bit sexy, but not actually erotic imho.

You can use sexy as a slang term to say you want something desirable, if you take that definition, I would say hardware can be sexy as in desirable. If any hardware I've seen is sexy, the R600 is it!

So you think even a few months down the line there wont be an x2600 or something that has slightly less performance, but more importantly fits in a computer and doesn't drain the national grid's reserves? :(

Well yeah, the X2600 will probably be single-slot, but a single-slot X2900 of any flavor? Probably not.

And yes, I agree with the power usage sentiment. High end is overkill for everything.

That is pretty much what i was getting at, there will never be a single slot X2900XTX - it generates too much heat, and that is what the thread is about hence me thinking you were commenting on that not having a single slot solution.

It's power consumption is worrying that is for sure, but it probably wont stop me getting it, my whole new rig could do with its own sub-station :(

EDIT: I kinda have my own personal carbon offsetting scheme  I don't drive my car much, and when u do, its economical so I can therefore be allowed a monster PC.............. :eyebrow:
