Anyone know anywhere that do a 42" plasma TV for less then £500, mainly used for Wii and 360 playing and movies. Any recomendations on this not looking for a huge array of connections really. I've had a google and a froogling but there doesn't seem to pick up any specifics. Thanks Morgan.
If you want it to be HD then I thinking you'd be hard pressed to find one for £500 new. A second hand SD Plasma around 42" should set you back around £350-400.
£527 for a 37" HD Ready http://www.ebuyer.com/customer/prod...9kdWN0X292ZXJ2aWV3&product_uid=122995&_LOC=UK or £555 for a 42" Plasma: http://www.pixmania.co.uk/uk/uk/524...ml?tag=mail_uk_uk_2007-01-26_14005&srcid=3690
http://shopping.bit-tech.net/UK/product/19549795/Samsung_LE32R74BD_32LCD_TV/ This is your best bet for playing xbox and wii, plasma is far more expensive than LCD panels.
You get what you pay for and tbh i think you would regret buying that plasma. If gaming is the main consideration i would go for the LCD Jamie listed. There are very few 42" LCD's that can match plasma's performance and probably even less that can do it cheaper imo. Give it a year and it will be different how ever.
In 42" sizes specifically... that might be true, but did you see last week's 'Gadget Show'? Suzi and Jason had to buy a 40"+ LCD and plasma for £1,000 or less. Jason bought a 40" Samsung LCD TV, and Suzi bought a 42" Panasonic plasma (which actually cost £120 less than Jason's LCD!). They then had members of the film crew watch a soccer match on each, and decide which of the two screens/pictures they preferred. The result was a draw... which would suggest there's already very little between LCD's and plasma's at the top end
