What the hell ?? what the hell you did to it ? are you sure ??? I never saw a computer hardware like this ?? Omg , brother sorry for your lose
that reply is classic. i'm sure you made some CSR's day. i recommend a chaintech AV-710 to replace. based off a via chip, i've had nothing but good experiences with mine
Brilliant, burn the bastid, loved the pics. I have 3 audigy zs and they run no problems at all, chipset nf4/ultra/uli, I use the drivers from jan 2006 and a minimal install of all the other shite
I still got the SoundBlaster 16 and original Live.. both works perfectly... I never had any issue with them, I had the SB16 for 5 years, then had to chnage because teh old black port on the mobo stop existing (I forgot it's name) and had to get a PCI one. Then I had the Live original model, since Jan 2006. And decided to get a newer one (x-fi). As I relised that my mobo soundcard was giving better sound.
Say what? I'm pleased I gathered up the courage to do something as stupid as this I didn't expect anything from Creative - I was merely expressing my displeasure at how their components perform, and thought that perhaps they might be interested to know. And hey, if it made some tech person's day, then well, ****, that's more than it did in its semi-working form. As for replacing it, I'm going to splash some moneys and get a dedicated DAC to run off an optical port. Screw using the soundcard's crappy $20 amplification stage when I have a dedicated headphone amp to do that for me.
Was that actually a real response?!!? I thought it was a joke lol. That said, when I had a letter about my zen micro it was bloody awful too, they are french though, i reckon it was out of spite.
I have to say I thought this thread was pretty hilarious. I never had a problem with my audigy 2 zs or my x-fi extreme music, but for some reason i still think this is pretty funny. The fact that they gave you a semi serious reply makes it even better. I wonder if they thought you actually didn't know it was burned, but I guess we'll never know.
Think Creative sound cards are great but their drivers are dire - if it was'nt for BF2 and the Xfi option i'd of got something else.
i would like to vote for another C-media Oxygen HD based card. They are awesome. I have the X-Meridian. They are especially awesome if you have an external reciever or digital speakers since it can output to dts and dolby.
I'm French I've never had a problem with Creative products... until the warrenty ran out. Loved the pics though You should e-mail them back saying that you managed to make it work and that you think there might be a small problem with one of the pin connectors or something
That's a very tempting suggestion As I said above - I'll splash on either an external DAC or possibly one of those Asus cards when they come out (or equivalent). The RFI shield might make them slightly less combustible though.... All things aside, I found pieces of capacitor about 10 metres away from where I burned it.... those things go out with a bang :>
Dolby WOOOOT? Dolby is the organization that makes the stuff, not a single effect or something. But the main reason for this post was that integrated sound solutions have those also. If you have an AV-amp with digital input then there's no reason to get any other than onboard-sound card.. If the drivers just are usable. I'm using the sound card of my mono and I have to say the drivers of that think caused me the worst headfuk for a long time! But now everything works, I can use the microphone and get the digital out at the same time, couldn't be more pleased. Also this supports DTS and Dolby Digital.
They are built like crap though. The capacitors used are extremely sub par. When the caps on mine finally go i'll just bin the card. Its cheaper to get a new card then replace all the caps with decent ones (not to mention time consuming)
I've never had a problem with my ZS its been going strong for about 4-5 years, but reading this maybe theres something im missing out on Where are the pics of the dead card?
