Not strictly modding related but I thought someone here may be able to give me some ideas. I'm building a large PA system, which is mostly MDF painted with spray paint. I'm looking to find a transparent coating which will both protect the paint (not expecting miracles...) and also give a nice plasticy glossy finish. Any tips on how to get such a finish?

Just go to the store you bought the spray paint and pick up a can of clear coat from the same manufacturer. Thats the best thing. If you want a smoother finish, sand with high grit paper between the clear coats.

its a wierd one, but the clear coat from the manf. of the spray seems to give very mixed results. On one application it gave the finish, whilst another time it gave a really blotchy finish - it seems to react with the paint. Any recommended brands?
