Hi all, This is my first mod i am planing on making a tribal case with the colour sceme as black and silver with blue lights I found a cheap case in a shop in town only £25 with a 400w power suply
I began this mod by permanently hotwiring my PSU. This will be to test the lighting and other eletricals All closed up The inside of it After this I started work on the side panel by masking it off (im not to good at that hehe) Then I drew the tribal pattern Started cutting Finished cutting and filled the air vent holes this is the top left pattern close up I sanded the filler down and re filled it
This is my plan for the front (Drew in paint for speed hehe) the main black part of it wil be Acrlic with black steel behind it so light dosnt get through The dvd drive will be a slot load drive with the slot lit up The lcd will be a blue and white 240 x 128 usb display The power button will be a Blue Illuminated Bulgin Vandal Switch with the blue light on all the time The Reset will be a White Illuminated Bulgin Vandal Switch with the white light as the HDD activity I will probably drill loads of holes in the front for the fan grill the brushed steel surround will be on all corners of the case
Tons of people used to use them a while back. Try looking at some of the older project logs of way back when. Go to www.gruntville.com and look at the "hall of fame" mods. I think most people stopped useing them because for about the same price you can buy a 14inch LCD to display ll of that extra information.
How about an alphacool dual 5.25" lcd display?? e.g http://www.specialtech.co.uk/spshop/customer/product.php?productid=2379&cat=305&page=1 plus its £1 cheaper. Keep it up looks to be a kool mod! cheers josh
Cheers i was thinking about that one anyway and its cheaper than the one i found all i need now is a load of cash hehe
Update Time: The bottom right after second filling Nearly finished filling old grill The back fan hole cut out Started filling the other side grill
does anybody know what cables you have to cut going into a hard drive to make it seek but not read it?
This may be more complex than you're looking for, but this article on zapwizard tells how to wire the drive up to the DD activity light. I haven't found the place I saw where someone cut the wires in the IDE cable itself, but I remember seeing it. I'll post it if I find it (unless someone else beats me to it).
thanks i rememba seeing it somewhere but i carnt rememba where i think the hard drive ive got dosnt work anyway
