    not exactly true.

If you have cards with enough memory for the resolution, then SLI is a good way of upping the total performance for less cost than complete replacement; That's why I suggest 2x 8800GTS 320 for someone who wants to max out performance at 1280x1024.

    2x 8800GTS 320 = $500 (250 each)
    1 8800GTX = $600+

with that math I'd go for dual 320's for 1280x1024 any day.

overall SLI allows you to gain more processing bang for your buck. The only caveat is make sure the cards you choose have enough memory to cope with the desired resolution.

In my case driving 2x 30" for CAD renders and FSX; Dual GTX is the only option that works. (non-SLI for FSX and CAD, SLI'd for other games)

uh, where are you getting the price of a GTX as being £600 plus!?!?

you can get them for as low as £380...

    USD, not pounds sterling.

I'm across the pond, and sometimes I forget that pounds are assumed here as opposed to $

though I'm not completely hopeless, my parents are British, and I used to think in pounds, now I think in USD. It can get confusing, especially when arguing computer gear with my cousin (who lives in Kirby).

might not be as roomy as the CMS 830, but the craftsmanship on it is just as amazing; It won't let you down. Don't expect to be able to mod it though, as the sidepanels are very finicky to cut unless you have a CNC Machine and some high-quality high-speed bits. (or laser/waterjet cutting)

I haven't read the entire thread but will you be oc'ing the E6600?
I'd go for the ninja rev b, or the freezer 7 pro if oc'ing isnt a major issue.

yeh likewise, i've just got a freezer 7 pro for my Q6600, i'll get a ninja when i OC, it deppends i reckon, if you can budget in a ninja now, get it, if now, the freezer 7 pro is more than capable at stock and is retty good up to medium levels of OCing

yes thats the one, being limited edition it kinda tempted me :p
would post pics (got pics of box....cool box) but my house is going through renovation so its kind of hard unpacking and packing the case in the small space i have, but ill see what i can do in the next few days.

don't mind spending a bit more not too much though

    go for corsair.

the Flex seems to have issues in non-revised 680i boards.
