10 years in the making. It's going to be epic.

 

Most games "10 years in the making" have been started, canceled, then restarted say 7-9 years later with a new dev team, which sounds like the case with this one (if they ever even started it the first time)

I'm a little worried by the addition of super units, I always thought warcraft and starcraft were about having really well balanced normal ones - which I think probably adds to the long term appeal of a game more than since you can try a bunch of different strategies instead of just going straight for an early game rush or the superunit.

Still overall glad to hear its coming though

Though I also wonder how many years after its launch they think will be the best lead-time for the MMO to hit at its most popular

 

Bu super units they might be akin to warcrafts heros, which all in all made the game very balanced as you can quash rushs and just have big hero battles

Im excited to see what blizzard do with this

 

Yeah I think the super units will be like the warcraft heros as you say Bogomip. The original starcraft had hero type characters anyway with higher HP and better strength weapons.

Damn guys, I just recently switched to a MacBook and 360 combination thinking I was done with PC gaming.

 

They said it would be released with a Mac version also

 

Yeah true, Blizzard do have good mac support but lets face it the macbook intel GMA 950 won't cut it.

 

Looking at the vid, the graphics aren't anything special, I imagine you'll be fine.

I'll agree that the graphics aren't visually stunning from a technical standpoint, but stylistically they are actually really good. Everything has a very clean look. Very visually pleasing.

 

wow i went to youtube and watched all the videos that i could. when i saw the gameplay footage from the confrence thingy, (where the guy is talking and is explaining the new units) i got chills down my spine, thats how exited i was.

 

Don't forget those are only initial screenshots. We've probably only seen the earliest screenshots before they've properly got to grips with the DX10 code.

Besides, you don't have to have creaming visuals to make an awesome game - look at Supreme Commander, the visuals per unit were rubbish on that, but it didn't detract from the overall awesomeness.

 

the game could still be in 2D and be extremely popular just because it's called Starcraft

Woooooooot! We've waited far too long for this. I think the graphics are fine and that they have done it justice. A little disapointed that there is no World of Starcraft as MMO's are my thing now.

Wonder when it's coming out now..

 

i heard/read it was supposed to come out in november some time, but knowing blizzard it'll get pushed back to like august of the next year

 

I've been viewing the vids on gametrailers and I have mixed feelings. Some of the new units look amazing but wtf is that protoss mothership? It looks insane, but personally I am not a fan of super super units. I wonder if the terrans and zerg have something similar up their sleeves.

 

Blizzard said that all race are equal, like WCIII, WCII, WC, SC...
