    ok wot im wanting to do is have 2 pc's on a router one will be in my room and the other one in he front room wot im wanting to do is be able to oprate the front room pc from the one in my bedroom
    any ideas

    Remote Desktop (if XP Pro) or VLC VNC? Maybe Radmin... There are plenty of alternatives... I'd go with the former 2

    Don't you mean VNC, not VLC...I don't think a Media Player would do much good. =D
    I would use Remote Desktop as it allows you to bring drives over to the Remoted in PC. So, a cd you put in the "client" will go to the "server" through the remote process. Same goes with printers.
