Hey, just bought a new rig: AMD AM2 64 X2 4200+ ASRock AM2NF6G-VSTA HIS ATI Radeon X1650 Pro IceQ Turbo 2gb Geil PC6400 RAM My problem is this: I push the power button and the computer seems to work perfectly, but there is no video output to the monitor. Monitor says there is no signal. I have tried the onboard VGA, my graphics car, I've tried moving the RAM around, disconnected hard drives, cleared the CMOS using the jumper, everything I can think of. I would update the BIOS, but I cannot even get the PC to show me what it's doing. It has turned on, and I managed to get into the BIOS ONCE, then it crashed A speedy response would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks, Jack
Tried just one stick of RAM? Got the cooler on properly? Checked all the power connections? Is the motherboard grounding on anything? Good luck!
have you tried a different monitor? if you have and there is still no signal, it looks like the motherboard has gone tits up. Although i remember last time i had an AsusRock motherboard, they had shipped it to me with the CMOS jumper set to clear, you might want to check that, had me confused for quite a while.
Check what they have said, if not it is a case for RMA'ing. The amount of things I have RMA'd on my new rig is starting to loose its funny side, it just happens.
is it even beeping and the hard drives properly spinning up when it turns on? usually the beep gives it away.. if no beep, but everything spins up, its often a dead mobo.. but, if the hdd's spin up and sound like they are accessing, and tehres a beep, then its something else. too bad that board doesnt have a hex readout or anything. i would say submit an RMA
Went to Scan today, and the motherboard is fine, it was the memory, but after borrowing some memory off a nearby friend and booting it with that, it didn't work. So I though why not put all 3Gb in? It worked Now it works with the original 2Gb.... Weird huh? Problem now is trying to get vista to install
Many mobo's don't like that you insert multiple RAM sticks and turn on the comp. You need to insert 1, startup comp wait until the BIOS is finished booting everything, then close your comp, THEN you insert the second stick.
