:sigh: What is the world coming to? Hopefully the attention drawn will make judges start to throw more cases out of court for being too frivolous.

On a side note - I bet the editors are rolling around on the floor with that article headline.

I read about this the other day. lol. The judge started crying in court when they asked him if he was wearing the pants that were lost and recovered.

I think a psychiatric examination is in order...

What is more damning of the US legal system is that this case has not yet been simply thrown out.

hhmm. I'm sure his 'pants' were worth less that $200, so why can't the court simply demand that the cleaners buy the man a new pair of pants?

When i lived in Texas people weren't this stupid :(

Heh, I can't believe this is in the 'serious discussion' forum.
It should be in the jokes section. :D

How can this not have been thrown out as soon as it was filed?

Not only should the case have been thrown out, the Judge should never be allowed to preside over a court again, his judgment is now clearly in question.

he should be held in contempt of court for wasting the the courts time and tax payers money. Whats worse is I pay for his salary. I believe the 300 million residents of the U.S.A should sue him for emotional and financial distress for a total of at least $10/claimant. That should shut him up.

I'm going to sue, because of him my beleive in the human race is gone. And psychiaters aren't cheap, so I think 2000,000,000,000,000 dollar is fair

Wow. I can't imagine what he must have been thinking? Then again, I suppose his problem is that he wasn't thinking to begin with.

I almost feel sorry for the guy. The country is almost unanimously calling for this case to be thrown out, and for him to be relieved of his post. Even Fox News was making fun of him. You know you've got it bad when Fox News makes fun of you.

I suspect that this case won't see much more time in the legal system. And I suspect that this guy won't see much more time behind the bench.

I guess that being a judge means he knows the legal system and can play it to try and ensure a win...

"Only" $2.5m needed for compensation. They would want to be bloody good pants. Then to jack up the price by $51.5m to "entice more people to sue". That's just disgusting. Disbar the man I say.

thats the beauty of living in a third world country ( i used to live in South Africa) there are too many murder cases for judges to be F'ed with cases like this

i hope those poor folks bone him back + "51.5m to entice more people to sue"

Be funny if he was involved in a robbery gone bad for all his ill-gotten riches. One can only hope I suppose.

A judge doing this really shows that he has no desire to make the world a fairer, better place. He's simply after money. That's fine if you're after earning money. But what he did is tantamount to stealing.

welcome to outrageous prices from dry cleaners if you can find one land.

If he gets the $57million I am guessing a lot of people will get out of the dry-cleaning business and any that stay will jack there prices up to where it's cheaper to just buy new clothes.

I hope they award this guy enough money to replace his suit. And that is all.
