I always thought you were a "graduand" until the degree ceremony (i.e. the conferment of your degree), at which point you become a graduate and become a Bachelor or Master of whatever.

But gratz anyway...off to the pub now, I imagine?

Hmm, good point. I'd thought you'd have an MSc because it's a science.

Congrats Master - I hope to be in the same shoes as you in a couple of years, only with Physics, not Engineering (dirty :p). :D

yeah what can i say, people are stupid.

It's an MEng because they taught us some advanced software engineering stuff. It's a better qualification than the MSci they were planning to award up until the 2nd year, which doesn't carry as much weight as an MSc. Academia, gotta love it.

In fairness, that phrase needs putting into context - what you've finished is definately not worthless Fod, but it could be if you decide to just jump to a completely unrelated field from your degree and not employ any of the academic skills you've learnt.

Either way, who cares? I find uni to be an enriching experience socially and mentally, screw the consequences if you're happy.

Congrats. Such a great feeling isn't it! Even better is when you have the piece of paper in your hands.
