Just collected my provisional results for my CS degree at UCL. You may now refer to me as Fod, Master of Engineering, First Class. Thank you. So who else is newly inducted into the professional world? PS. WHIOOWHOWHOWHOOOOOOOOOOOWOHOHOO HHHHHHHHHHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!
Graz man! Good job! I also graduated 2 weeks ago and i am now an.......dunno what i am Its some sort of Computer technician for networks or something. I anyway gone continue to study at Uni.
I always thought you were a "graduand" until the degree ceremony (i.e. the conferment of your degree), at which point you become a graduate and become a Bachelor or Master of whatever. But gratz anyway...off to the pub now, I imagine?
meh, graduand, graduate, same difference I HAVE A DEGREE! no pub today, we went for a "quiet" lunch though. I am actually applying to continue study in a postgraduate degree, soo maybe i'll stay in studentship for a while yet!
Congrats Master - I hope to be in the same shoes as you in a couple of years, only with Physics, not Engineering (dirty ).
yeah what can i say, people are stupid. It's an MEng because they taught us some advanced software engineering stuff. It's a better qualification than the MSci they were planning to award up until the 2nd year, which doesn't carry as much weight as an MSc. Academia, gotta love it.
In fairness, that phrase needs putting into context - what you've finished is definately not worthless Fod, but it could be if you decide to just jump to a completely unrelated field from your degree and not employ any of the academic skills you've learnt. Either way, who cares? I find uni to be an enriching experience socially and mentally, screw the consequences if you're happy.
Congrats Fod, think I may have failed this year unfortunately, I'm starting to think uni isn't for me, my brain has slowly become more and more smooshed.
Congrats. Such a great feeling isn't it! Even better is when you have the piece of paper in your hands.
