    hi!

I started this case several months ago. As basis I used a Chieftech mesh Case which u can see on this picture:

My First Idea was, to replace the grill in the front door with a piece of MDF and cut a hole into it to see the aquatube as shown in this sketch:

Later I figured out to laminate the piece of MDF with carbon but i aint done yet because i'm not yet familiar with the material...

But here are sum pics of the piece as worked on it in the past:

First of all i had to do the outer reliefs of the piece. I did that with a dremel and a file:

I marked the hole and cut it out with a saw
    [IMG]

then i started milling out the relief:

Then i sanded it with 180 paper
    [IMG]

Then I assigned the holes for the screws
    [IMG]

    And Finale mounted it
    [IMG]

then I grounded the plate and looked for unproper roughness
    [IMG]

and corrected it with sum spachtel

Then I grounded it again and wetsanded it with 800paper

    So thats it :D

Afterwards I build a "selfmade melvin pipe" for my aquatube. Cuz its rev 1.0 I couldn't use the aquajet. I took a G 1/8 push-in anglepiece, cut the winding a bit shorter and mounted it from inside. I had to cut the winding cuz otherwise the other piece wouldnt fit. After that I put a Plexiglas tube into the anglepiece.

    so thats done.

Here is actually what the front looked like before:

    pretty ugla, eh?

So ic cut ut a matchin piece of MDF:

and milled another few reliefs for that piece:

    and it matched :D
    [IMG]

So then I started tp spachtel
    [IMG]

and this is what it looked like after a lot more hours of grounding and spachteling:

    so far....

I had the idea of creating a selfmade plugn'energy powersupply but then i got the idea to make an external one, witch means that there will be a piece (MDF) which Ill mount in the back of the case were originally a 120mm fan should be mounted. (I hope ya'll understand this :worried: )

And this is what my first try looked like:

But then i decided to do sum more sketching for that one and here they are:

    and an animation :D

Thats all my work for now, hope ya'll like it :D
Im forced to stop working until friday next week cuz i have to take care of my turkish exchange student :cooldude:

    nice man!

    Love it...

What do you mean by schapnell or whatever you said? is it pudy-ing?

and when you say mill, are you using a engraving bit on the dremel?

I think I meant spachtel thats the white paste I used for the roughness, I don't know the right expression for that one, too :D

    Spackle, or Spackling compound.

This project is off to a good start. I like the sketch of the fan/power setup.

So the top MDF plate is solid, but is the one below it hollow, to cover the wiring? Love the idea anyway!!

Whats the point of the external power supply plugs? Seems like a cool concept and it looks good, but what exactly do you plan to power?

hmm, I don't know which one u mean?

I haven't planned yet what i'll connect to those plugs. The plugs are primary for a good look :D

ja, in die logs zu kommen, wäre schon nicht schlecht und ich muss gestehen dass ich durch die news erst auf die Idee kam, auch hier mein TB zu posten.
Aber in erster Linie will will ich den Mod populär machen :D

it's just primer, but i'll look for a code (if there is one)

and thanks for the propz :D

    Hey hu$tla, here's a little explanation.

You're trying to make kind of a power supply from the two mdf plates. The top plate (1) is solid as far as I can see, but how about the bottom (2) plate? If you're using it to hide wiring, will the bottom plate be hollow?
