Thanks for the nice comments :D Noctua's are indeed th best fan's I've known. Expensive (relative) but very good!

He isn't getting warm. Not even under stress so that should be fine. The ALu also works as a heat transfer so it shouldn't be a probleme. And yes, there will be more suprices ;)

    UPDATE 18 & 19

    Hello again!

I don't like screws on mods so I 'll use inbusjes (do you call it like that in English?).

    A whole box. 500 pieces.

    Zoom
    [IMG]

All M4. I think it's going to give a nice contrast with the eventually black.

A little picture from my room. See also my other hobby. I sold it this week though because modding is much more fun ;)

The case. It stands there when I'm not bussy modding it.

Something went wrong with the frame so I had te rebuild a few pieces.

    Another plate for some stiffness.

    Old
    [IMG]

    New. Better hé?

Even more inbusjes for the plates. These are longer.

    First plate doen.

    2 plates on the frame.

    1st sidepanel stuck

    Other sidepanel and the top.

How it stands at this moment.

Next time more platework! It's vert time consuming work to get everything right but I'm sure you'll can imagine that.

    See you next time

those injuns (or whatever) i THINK are called rivits, but i cannot quite see close enough. looking good!

Where do you use your jig saw?? i mean do you have a table or something? can you take a pic because with my jig saw i can't find a good place to clamp the material on both sides, it jst flops around.... thanks!

I believe that "inbusjes" would actually translate to M4 hex screws.
Not absolutely certain, but they aren't rivets.
    What's the logo/rune?

Is there a cat in that bowl?!? LOL.

Excellent cutting skills, I like the use of lots of bolts to hold everything together.

I just use this thing: A workmate.

My ALu is 2mm so it isn't that flimsy. It's also really hard to bend. I just hold the jigsaw in my righthand and hold the panel in my other. It works good but that's maybe because I've some ''skills'' with it ;) Very important: Choose the right saws for the material! If you don't have that, the jig saw wants to ''jump'' because it bites in the material in stead of cutting it.

A Hugo.B: Hex heads/scres are indeed the correct names for it. Thank you. Rivets are the things I use in the frame ;) I just made the logo in my sketch. I has no meaning or anything but I thought it was a nice shape and it fits the theme from the case.

@mattthegamer463: That's correct ;) I also like the hex heads more than standard screws. It just add something :D

Thanks for all the comments. Soon more! I'm with update 25 on the dutch fora so you still have a few to expect ;)

    Thanks!

    UPDATE 20

For the first time you can get an impression of how it's going to look. I haven't screwed al the panels in place so don't worry if anything is out of allignment.

    Front and left.

    Front and right.

    Back and right.

    Back and left.

    The whole thing.

    Top.

    Top.

A look on the inside. Al that space will be used ;)

In here there isn't much space left too. Keep in mind that there will sit 2 drives, 2 resevoirs, the pump, an TFT , an LCD and a lot of wiring.

Comparison with a standerd midi-tower. [IMG]

Also watch the left side of the case. A mirror with scratches.

Next to my case at the moment. The King's Castle. If you are interessted I could post it to.

That's it for now. The rough shape is there. It takes really loads of time to finetune them. It is a milestone however. Finally it's looking a bit more at casemodding then casebuilding ;)

    See you next time

    UPDATE 21

It toke a while but I was to lazy to transelate the thing so sorry for that. I'm still working on it although the progress is slowly. It has to be perfect and that takes a lot of time.

First I made the logo on the front. It's not done yet.

I made the innerframe attached to the outerframe. Before
    [IMG]

    After
    [IMG]

Next up is the underside. It was very bad. Watch the black stripes. It should be like that ;)

And after I treatend it :thumb:

New materials for the innerframe. Again some rivets. I already used 500 of them!

Next step was finetuning the logo.

With very small files for those little spots ;)

Thé tool of choice to create straight edges.

The residu from one plate after sanding. This was needed to let the plate fit the frame well. I made all the plates 2mm too big so I could correct small things later. That's what I did on that moment.

    After a few plates
    [IMG]

And some more. I cleaned it with the compressor.

That's it again. I'll try to update more now. On the other forums I'm with update 32 so you still have to see something! Please let me know what you think of it:clap: See you next time!

    UPDATE 22

Finally an update. It took me a while but I'll promise I'll go on the next couple of days.

I didn't get why the frame dind't fit very well. So I went looking:

I used a scrap-part for support. Never good.

Next were the 5.25'' bays. I needed a plate here.

    Not bad :)

    Suddenly it looks better.

At the back will be a few switches and power for the pump.

    Made a plate for it.

Bussy with rebuilding the innerframe. There were a lot of old holes in it so I made a new one.

    Next up was the front.

    Not bad.

    Back part rebuilded
    [IMG]

    More platework.

    Without tape
    [IMG]

    Not bad again.

Next up were some holes for fan-mounting. But I dind't had a good mal (mole?) so I adjusted an old fan for the new purpose ;)

    28 holes further
    [IMG]

The back needed a hole for the PSU
    [IMG]

    At once :)

    Overview
    [IMG]

That's it for now. More soon!

    UPDATE 23

A big update this time. and an important one! Because there will be light. A very important feature for this case. hope you like it ;)

    The package from China.

    Unwrapped
    [IMG]

LED's :) 300 in total with some accesoires for it.

    More toys.

Also more watercooling. But first I cleaned everything up a bit.

New blocks. I really like them because they are cheap, good quality and perform very well. the don't look bad either ;) Alphacool btw.

    Old coolers.

    Installing. Everything you'll need.

I first made the vid. ready.

Next was removing all the old tubing.

Done. the green tube is still old because I ran out of tubing. Doesn't matter.

    Next up were the leds.

First plate. You'll find out alter, where all the lines are for.

These leds are 3 V each. So i put 4 of them in a row so I'll get 12v and then they get power from the PSU.

    Dark room.

Although it is quite bright, it isn't overdone. Only the case lit up and that's what I want. With CCFL's you dont need other lamps anymore in your room. Also, the shiny ALu reflects a lot. I can assure you it is a lot more subtile when it is all black.

Next up was construction again. Some plates are good, others aren't. I replaced some bad plates because I want a good case.

    With Led's.

    Cool effect
    [IMG]

These are shining on a graphic LCD later on.

    Wiring
    [IMG]

They all go to a small central point where I'll can swithc them on/off later on.

A row of Leds in the lower area of the case. First I had to make a plate for it.

    Fits!

    Time to finetune the bottem.

A bit furhter again. you'll see the housing for the leds.

    Now with leds
    [IMG]

Wired. There will be some cable-guiders later on so don't worry.

Let there be light! Cool right?

With the panel on. Not very clear.

    Very clear ;)

That's it for now. All this hard labour has been done with a little handycap ;)

    http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k208/TEAMIKKE/Demission Update 23/Voet.jpg

That's it again. More next time. The ALu reflect loads of light and the cam picks it al up either so it looks very bright but in reality it is less.

    thanks for reading!

Hey! Teamikke Very nice work so far.

I've been a long time Reader of bit-tech modding forums but I had to register to tell you to keep up the good work, I love the LED colours, Its great to see every step in an Alu scratch build case, as I am planning one myself. (albeit a lot smaller ^^)

Keep it up I love the look and lighting style!

Thank you! Glad you like it. And you are lucky because I'm far from done with the Alu works ;)

@ dan-ere-07 and AFX: thank you as well.

I'm also pleased with the leds. Especially those in the bottem. Those beams of light look very good, also on black.

I think I'll get an update done today.

    UPDATE 24

Here we go again. Still a lot of ALu-work but I'm getting closer to plexie-work. Then it will be interesting!

First I made a fanguard for the top. I wanted it to be original so after a couple of crazy brainwaves I came up with this.

    Cut out
    [IMG]

    Bend it baby! :)

    the whole thing.

    On top :)

I had to make it all a bit more flat. I did this with a rbber hamer and some train-tracks!

Next up: A big plate which will be some sort of back-plate.

Disaster strikes! The fake-Dremel molted :(
    [IMG]

A bit hard to see but the cooling-fan just melted to one big clomp of plastic!

So I had to improvise a bit. Well, the results aren't that bad I quess.

I need to be able to mount and unmount this plate because the mobotray is firmly attached with rivvets. But I can't slide it over the mobotray. It needed soms adjustmentes!

Because the Alu gets really hot when you are treating it, has it to be cooled. So on to the shower ;)

finetuning the frame with the sandingmachine.

    Done. Nice and straight.

This is what happens, when you put to many ''screws'' in a box.

Made 2 brackets so I can mount the back-plate.

Next up was the right side.

    Drilled holes for some leds.

    Mail from China!

With a LTP-connector! Just that. The man from who I ordend it, deliverd the wrong connector. So he sended me the good one all the way from china. Good service, right?

    And the last one!

The are thing you can put on the end of curtainrails. I'm going to use it for some reservoirs. But that's for the next time!

I realise it's a bit hard to get an idea from what it will be when it's finished but just keep following the updates and it will become clear ;)

    Thanks for reading again.

    Update 25

I've got a new (fake) Dremel!

    Box
    [IMG]

    :)

    More stuff
    [IMG]

    That's it ;)

    UPDATE 26

I've been bussy with the real life so dind't made much progress but it's better than nothing ;)

I need UV-light for the tubing and so, so I made a few plates which will house soms UV-leds.

    Cutted
    [IMG]

With a few holes in it.

A few led's further. The hole between the plates is for the radiator.

All the wiring goes to the front of the case.

Light! To bad my cam. isn't that good. In real life the colour is purple.

    Overview
    [IMG]

And a little test with some blue-UV liquid. Works brilliantly!

I also ordered the plexie so now it's getting real! Read on ;)

    UPDATE 27

    Time for a bigger update!

Goodies again. What's in the box?

My own toolset :) Now I don't have te borrow them from my dad.

Next up was an 4x20 LCD. First I had to make room for it.

    Done
    [IMG]

    Impression with the LCD.

    Soldering the LCD.

A few photo's from working with it.

    Succes!

Blurry, but it gives an idea how the lighting is.

Next I fine tuned the fanquard on top.

Then I made another fanquard for the other radiator.

    Drawing
    [IMG]

    cutting
    [IMG]

    Result
    [IMG]

    Bending!

    Finetuning
    [IMG]

    Installing
    [IMG]

There will be some nice mesh behind it ;)

    Bought a few switches.

Then I made a bracket with USB. I missed that in my other mod so this one had to had it ;)

    Making room for it.

There it comes. Above the other 5.25'' drives.

And this is what you see from it with the logo on it, which serves as a steatlh-plate.

That's it again. Next time some plexiework!

    thanks for reading.

Holy s.. that's a lot of pictures :D Took me about four hours to scroll through the project. Good job so far! I'm not a huge fan or large cases, but I like the design... I could take one of those - only shrunk to one third of the original size.

Gotta love those cheap rotary tools, just buy a new one when the first fails :) Keep up the good work!
