So, here's this thin aluminum leg that came with the Weber grill I originally bought to obtain R2D2's head.

I pounded it in to an oval shape as it is in the movie.

I finished sanding the bondo I applied earlier.

The area where the wings are attached to the winnebago go over the edge....

So I folded them under with a hammer.

    And attached the engines.

More bondo, sanding, cutting and paint to come.

Here comes all the major Bondo-ing. I will ad several layers to the wings to make them thicker and smooth-er.

As usual, I like to add a coat of paint when nearly done sanding to find all the small areas that need to be filled in. Needless to say, I found some.

I had to rebondo some of the holes.

After another quick primer, it looks like I'll have to bondo. . . . . .again.

I have this Mesh from the transformer of an old Tandy CoCo

I cut and bent them into 3D triangles

Then added them to the wings

And I painted them to match

So the mobo will be in the back

I had to use two stand offs together to get the height that I need.

I then had to hold them in place on the bottom with nuts.

    Here's before...

And immediately after. I obviously still have to make it look clean.

Oh, yeah. That's gonna look good.

Kinda hard to tell, will you have room to put the bumper back on?

I cannot find the IO plate so I bought this mesh garbage can for $4

I cut a little piece out

Then cut out the IO ports

    Now it's getting painted.
