Iv been with pipex for 5 years as when they stared out they seemed to be a reliable ISP however for the last year or so they have been getting worse and worse to the point now where my connection just ran randomly hangs up for no reason

I’m looking for a new ISP with at least 2meg preferably 8 unlimited as cheep / reliable as possible

    Any recommendations?

PS: I can’t get cable where I live :wallbash:

PPS: when I phoned up for my mac code pipex offered me 8meg unlimited for 14.99 so if by some miracle you are happy with pipex its still worth ringing them, though its not much good if you cant get online to use it :sigh: .

Titan ADSL (one month contract only. Broadband MAX - up to 8Mb)
ADSL24 (one month contract only. Up to 8Mb)

Both those are done through ENTA [wholesale broadband supplier].

Be (up to 24Mb... on all their packages!! Even the "Unlimited" package is just £24.00 a month!)

depends on your usage, nildram is good, as is BeThere (but heavily contended), AAiSP is good if you can suffer the 8am-6pm caps, the rest of the time it is fully uncapped.

What kind of traffic do you do? monthly bw usage?

I've no problems whatsoever staying connected to Pipex (2Mb service) so the problem may be at your local exchange or possibly your hardware; you could still have it with any ISP.

But it's a good idea to threaten to leave, they made me a "retention offer" I couldn't refuse. :)

take the plunge and go over to Titan ADSL you will be glad that you moved to them, and if you dont like them move after 1 month, simple as that.

I just hated when Pipex started to Port block Torrents and other P2P services.

just try Titan 1 month minimum contract and no cancelation charges and free migration to them. Also they are an Enta partner.
