As the title says... how does your music get from your pc to your ears? If you listen to music in more than one way, please select the way that you mainly listen, but by all means post to tell us about it. If you listen to music on more than one PC, then let us know! I mainly listen to music with an E-Mu 1212m on 2.0 Pro/Monitor speakers (tannoy reveal active), but occasionally on hi-fi headphones (Beyer DT770) after-hours on the main pc. On the htpc, music mainly goes through a premium PC 6.1 setup, but occasionally through a high-end Hi-fi (usually when I want to listen to a CD that's in the car, but ripped to the pc, and I cant be bothered to go to the car and get it, but typically the CD player is the source for the proper hi-fi)
Selected 2.0 Premium PC speakers, but I also listen on a pair of Grado SR80's which I presume would fit into Headphones - HiFi
Cans at the moment are my age-old, beloved pair of HD495s, the amp is a Creek OBH-21SE and i've been planning to get a moodlab (mood-lab.com) DAC for a while now. Just got to actually get around to doing it
Well my iTunes library is aliased on my Synology CS-406 Raid 5 NAS, which plays through iTunes on my MacBook Pro via jumbo'd gigabit ... which streams wirelessly to my Airport Express which is connected to my Yamaha CRXM170 complete with some Mordaunt Short 902i connected by some MisterTad created audio cables of silliness ...
A standard set of creative 5.1's without the rears attached (takes up too much room) and I have no where to put them. Soo.. Mid-range 2.1's I guess.
Cheap HD202's powered from my macbook pro at work but I do enjoy plugging up my 2.0 speakers at home when I'm feeling in the mood.
When i'm litterally at my pc and not putting it through my AV setup I either use my Sennheiser HD 580's or Creative Gigaworks T20's. I would love to build some decent quality active speakers, Creative Gigaworks T20's are nice for pc speakers, but they are just pc speakers.
7.1 gigaworks from creative here ... all 7 attached, but not really in the proper places -> no where to put them! Other than that, into a couple of floor standing IMP speakers via a technics amp
A pair of Canon SV-15a's (don't even Google --I doubt that you'll still find a picture). Originally multi-media speakers with their own individual amps clipped on the back, they are so good that studios use them as monitors --if they can still find them. They are sort of collectors items by now.
