Here are a couple of shots.

Here you can see how much light is comming through the gold leaf. I wanted to make it a little more translucent. Sorry its a little blurry:sigh:

I thought black would be a good backdrop, so I sprayed it on the back of a test piece. From the front it just made the gold look dirty. So I tested it with gold spray paint. That seems to do the trick, so I painted the back side of all the leafed pieces. This is the first coat. I'll probably put down 2-3 more coats, not enough to become opaque, just enough to make the gold translucent.

Then, last night I spent fininishing cutting out all the holes for the back plate. The holes for the Fans, mobo, PSU, cards, power switch. Then I taped them off for a coat of black paint on the inside.

    Very Nice!

It looks much better with the foil like you did it than it would have if you had gone with what I originally thought would look good.

And once again, I really like the original idea. A very geeky idea with a simple, elegant result.

    Excellent!

TG, Thank you very much. I'm surprised yours didn't make it.

I've been toying with the idea to make a waterfall (8-12in freefall). It would come from a reservoir overflow into a river and then free fall. I've got some preliminary sketchs, but nothing solid yet.

    dacust,

Thank you very much. I tried to keep it simple and still hold some subtleties. It was fun to build.

It looks perfect there, fits right in. Congratulations on finishing it! I really like the way the gold leaf and the wood grain came out on it.

    H.B.

Here is a shot in its final location.

The Vista Performance Score was 5.3.

And yes, that is a big screen ... (63in) and at 1080i, on the 7600GT It looks great. The only issue was I had to change the font DPI to 150%. both the 96 and the 120 were not enough. There was a lot of eyestrain.
